i also have confusion regarding the whole history of firewrights and firstborn.I have just finished Kaurava and have lots of questions

so in my understanding Satya the princess of Matsya was born a firstborn and was trained by a firewright Ghora due to which i guess she is considered to be a firewright. Not really clear about this

then she had Krishna Dawaiyanpayan from a first born. Not really clear about this either but just assuming

1)Then how was Krishna Dawaiyanpayan more of a firstborn than firewright? Why didn't Satya tell her dream that she wants firewright to be destroyed so that their knowledge can be more usable to her son ?Why did she tell her son she wanted her line to be king of kurus?

2)Since Satya was a Matsya princess wanst it obvious that she would have seem connections with firewrights since Matsya was the land of firewrights? Why was everyone so shocked when eventually Govinda reveals that Satya was a firwrights and the line of kurus are also firewrights in a way

3)Also how did Krishna Dawaiyampayan become first Vyasa? Is it becuase he led the Great Scourage?

4)Also why did he support Dharma in becoming the emperor rather than Suyodhan? Both were Kurus

Nice thread, ANu.
I have similar questions as some of the others -

- Why is Dharma chosen to be the emperor by Govinda Shouri. He seems to lack any and everything an emperor should be. Is it because Dharma would be easier to mould.

- Govinda is very attached to Panchali, why would he want her to marry Dharma, even if it is best for entire Aaryavarta. Dury wold have been a better choice.

- Whats the reason for giving Shikandin and Ashvattama a bigger role than the others (Parth, bhim, Dury, Karn etc).

- What's the reason for Keeping Govinda a bachelor and Panchali Childless.

- Any particular reason for Pachali being married only to Dharma

- How is it that you have omitted imp events like the Durvasa visit during VAnaparva, Yaksha Prashna etc,

- Most important - why are your books not available in the US

yes and also Karna's Kavach and Kundal daan is not there and Arjuna's Virat Yudh is not there

These are some of the heroic moments of two important characters

So just wanted to know the reason for omitting these

I have similar questions as others. My main issue is with portrayal of Paarth and especially Paarth- Govinda friendship, there's no deep bond between them in AC as it is in the epic. Also why is Duryodhan portrayed as an almost positive character. yeah I know that he had good qualities but he made some very big mistakes and the envy and hatred that Duryodhan felt towards the Pandavas is completely missing

Actually regarding Govinda choosing Dharma as an emperor he does explain the reason for the same in Kaurava book 2 to his brother Balbadara

So basically Govinda's brother asks him why he hasnt left Aryavrata as what he wanted has been achieved(this before the dice game) to which Govinda says because emperor is weak

Then Govinda explains that he did consider other people who would have been stronger emperor's like Vasusena and Jarasandha but the emperor should have been some one from the Kaurav line becuase of their connection to Vyasa( and i am guessing Satya as well)

Then he says Suyodhan would have been the better choice but he didnt choose Suyodhan because

1)He didnt trust Suyodhan's brothers and dint want panchali to go any where near his brother's

2)Suyodhan wasn't a king yet his father still ruled Hastina hence it would have been difficult to make him an emperor

So Govinda does give his reasons but like i pointed out in my first post these reasons dont seem strong enough for choosing a weak emperor not once but twice i mean after the final war as well it will be Dharma who will become emperor again.Until unless ending is changed?

It just feels not right when two of the most powerful and intelligent characters that is both Govinda and Panchali also now since she wants a war support a weak emperor like Dharma over a good person and emperor like Suyodhan.

I mean Govinda has given his reasons not sure about Panchali but atleast till now no reason seems strong enough to me

Hello Ms, Udayasankar. I had a few questions too.

1. In your book, it seems like Arjuna lusts for Panchaali. Why? Arjun is not somebody to envy his elder brother just because of a woman.
2. Do you like Arjun? What are your feelings about Arjun? From your writing, I don't think you have positive views about him. Can you justify?
3. Why is he portrayed as a womaniser in your book? (Being a womaniser is not actually wrong. But in your story, Arjun is nothing other than one who is after women, and is disgusted because he did not get Draupadi) Why so?
4. Why does Govinda Sauri do so much to put Dharma into the throne, considering his character is completely black in your book?
5. Why is Shikhandi among all people Arjun's best friend? And why is the Parth-Madhav bond so shallow?
6. Duryodhan seems to be a complete saint. Why? He has some good shades, but why in your book he seems to be a complete white character who has nothing against anyone. Why so?

Looking forward to answers, especially regarding Arjun. Have a good time here.

'With great power comes great responsibility" The famous philosopher Spiderman said that

With all of IF's rules and regulations, we have been given a great deal of freedom to ask and be answered in this Book Chat thread. It is my humble request to all, that we do our part to keep the chat interesting and informative rather than combative and miserable. After all, the author is spending time with us, which we should appreciate. There is also the fact that we have other authors prepared to chat with us too, who will be wanting to know how our first one went
