Arjun bring Subhadra to Indraprastha

Another wedding, and the year flew past. Arjun was at his journey's end, standing before Yudhishthir who was delighted to see his younger brother so fit and refreshed. The other Pandavs gathered around as well, welcoming the smiling home-comer, patting him on his back and asking a thousand questions.

Arjun seemed a little abstracted, Yudhishthir thought.

'But of course, he cannot wait to get back to his new bride', the big brother told himself with a grin. So he permitted Arjun to take leave.

But Arjun did not go to his new bride. He went straight to Draupadi's apartment. 'Yajnaseni, I have come back', he said. And waited on the threshold with bated breath.

She stood solitary by the open window with her back at him. How forlorn she seemed, this queen with five husbands, how entirely alone, Arjun thought. All his pent-up longing, his years of hunger, overpowered him with force. I have been such a fool, he cursed himself, why did I let her go, where was I going?

She turned to confront him, her eyes spewing fire. 'Why are you here? You seem to have lost your way. Shouldn't you be with your Yadav beauty, your enchanting bride from Dwaraka? And you'll tell me how you missed me. . . . . '

Arjun stood by without a word.

'Oh, how you have missed me,' Draupadi sneered. 'Never mind. It happens. Old ties loosen and fall off like worn threads when new bond are knotted. Never mind. I will survive.'

She realised then that Arjun was looking straight at her.; After all these years. . . into her eyes. There was something there, something unbelievable.

In horror, Arjun watched Draupadi burst into tears. Why, his fiery wife cried. Even in the worst of situations, he had never seen her give way to grief. It was unbearable. Arjun had borne her reproaches but he could not bear this.

He dashed in and knelt in front of the weeping figure.

'Forgive me,' he whispered. 'Forgive me, forgive me.' But she did not look up. She seemed to be oblivious of him.

An agonised Arjun went out of the room. He called Subhadra from his mother's chamber. ' Take off your finery,' he told her with sudden harshness. 'Go to Draupadi.'

As her sobs abated, the wrung-out Draupadi became aware of a shaking, white-faced young woman standing before her in servile attention. What a frightened young girl, she thought.

Draupadi suddenly felt tired, a little ashamed.

'You must be Subhadra,' she said, forcing a smile on her lips. 'What a beautiful name. And what a beautiful bride. But couldn't your husband afford to get some bridal finery?' She saw the bewilderment is Subhadra's innocent eyes and embraced her.

'Poor dear,' Draupadi whispered, 'poor dear.'

As she looked past Subhadra's head at the man waiting beyond, she was filled with wonder, with hope. For the first time, she saw tears in his eyes.

Love had come back to Arjun.

Lovely edit santhiyaa 😊 that is the scene where Arjun arrives at Draupadi's swayamwar right?
hope I am correct..Actually that was the episode I fell in love with ArJun.. I have seen earlier episodes of arjun but didn't notice him much 😆 that scene where he walks into the swayamwar ... He stole my heart ❤️
The rest is history... 😉 he became one of my most fav character /actor apart from Krishna & draupadi !! 😳

exactly😳 honestly speaking i was not that fond of him while watching him with beard but when he came as an groom i was like then as days pass me liked him more and more☺️ also joined this AT b4 i was part of only SRJ AT coz liked him since his show Parichay
