Last night, I was counting the number of tracks of Mahabharat, that the CVs have ruined...
Entry of the elder Pandavas...
The plot was decent, especially when Karna comes in, but their entries...
One is carried by eagles, 2 jumps off from a twenty storied like fort, one survives with "Baano Ka Chhatra", despite being almost squashed with boulders...
Only Bhima's entry was decent.
Next, Draupadi's Swamvar...
All was well, until Draupadi starts spitting fire at an innocent looking Karna, by comparing him with "Bhoot", "Pret", "Rakshas", "Pisach"...
Like really, I understand that most script writers go overboard with Draupadi's supposed "fiery" nature, but this one was too much...I felt like bombing the production office...As if they are giving reasons to Karna to humiliate her later...
Next, Rajsuya Yagna...
Everything was fine, until Draupadi did "Shatraharan", and thus giving Duryodhan idea to do her "Vastraharan"...Wow, as if they are the same thing!!
Next, Dyut Sabha...
The Vastraharan scene itself was brilliantly done...
But the drama that took place before that was horrible, especially the dice game.
Duryodhan staking everyone from Vikarna to Karna to his wife, and Yudisthir crying helplessly as he's staking his brothers and wife, on whom he has immense "Garv"...
Then Draupadi instigating Karna by the previous "Bhoot-Pisach" comment and a new "monkey" comment, to which finally Karna gives out the famous insult...after so much of instigation!!
Next, Karna's Kavach giving scene...
When Karna peels off his skin, that was really heart-wrenching.
The questions that Karna asks Kunti were quite valid.
However, the drama that follows after, with Karan-Arjun bromance, with Arjun running and crying for Karna, then later Nakul and Sahadev playing doctor to Karna...
Then Kunti's whitewashing by showing her being all Mother India with Karna... The CVs ignored the true glorious moments of their beloved Karna, by not showing the offer.
But they showed hundreds of other rubbish tracks to compensate for that.
Next, Draupadi's change of mind.
Okay, initially, I thought that the CVs would clear the misconception by showing that Draupadi was NOT the root cause of the war.
I loved the scene when Draupadi gets to know of her future from Lord Krishna.
I loved the scene when she looks at her sons, and cries.
I also loved the Krishna Leela episodes.
BUT, the CVs at first showed that Draupadi wants war. Then they show her going against war, to save her sons. Then they come a full circle, and once again show her wanting war, this time with even more conviction, with "Yudh Mera Adhikaar Hain"?????????????
Like really?
If Draupadi had really called the shots for the war as her "Adhikaar" and if she really had so much power, then her Vastraharan would never have happened, in the first place.
Next, the Kurukshetra War.
These are the following that I noticed...
Bhishm stood like a statue most of the times.
Arjun watched silently when Bhishm was destroying everything.
Abhimanyu was acting like a brat, going around the battlefield, challenging random enemies.
Duryodhan was barking at everyone as usual.
There is no ONE senapati of the Panadava army...Everyone gives orders to everyone.
Bhima plays cricket once in a while with his Gada.
Yudisthir gives out all strategies to the enemy.
Drupad acts like a loser, getting defeated by everyone. Once his weapon falls off, and once he himself falls off...in turn.
And finally Dushasen acts like a dumb-headed jerk, as always, with Shakuni doing "Mere Bachhe, Mere Bachhe."
Apart from this, there have some really great fight scenes and some disgusting "Chatting" scenes between the enemies.
Next, Bhishma's killing...
Bhishm gives up his weapon, Draupadi's "didi" becomes a "dada", n she walks into the battlefield like a zombie, and shoots Bhishma, followed by the Pandavas, who do more of crying than shooting.
Next, Abhimanyu Vadh...
Okay, this is one of the worst tracks of this serial.
Drone and Karna crying buckets.
Only Shakuni, Ashwathama and Dushasen are fighting.
Abhimanyu gets stabbed, and he fights like a kid.
The 4 Pandavas, cry like heroines.
And finally Karna gives a loving hug to Arjun's son, and gives him Mukti...Simply NO COMMENTS.
And then Ghatotkach...
This track was better than the previous ones.
The track is somewat close to the epic. Atleast they showed, Karna using Shakti against Ghatotkach, and Ghatotkach being sacrificed for Arjun.
Now, Mahabharat has almost come to an end.
But still we have some important tracks left.
Drone, Karna, Dushasen, Duryodhan...they all have to be killed.
I wonder, how they will show these.
