As a child I had always wondered why I liked Krishna more than Rama whereas Rama was called Maryada Purushottam. Every man was asked to be like Rama not Krishna. But after watching MB I realize why I loved Krishna more than Rama. 1) Krishna was perfect in every role. He was one man a woman could visualize in any form and feel happy about it. Devaki and yasodha's son, Radha's lover, Rukmini's husband, Draupadi's friend and Subhadra's brother. Take any form a woman want to imagine a man the first image will be that of Krishna

Key reason he has never betrayed anyone who kept their trust on him. Sita's character has been questioned and Sita had to live an isolated life for no fault of hers. But Rukmini who ran away on the wedding day trusting Krishna completely was his queen. Never once a question is raised on Rukmini's character. But her devotion to krishna is hailed. Rukmini had no one to go back if Krishna had betrayed her, but Krishna accepted her true love for him
Radha was never married to Krishna. But then she is treated as his soulmate. In Bhajans, in temples and even in name it is Radhakrishna. Radha's love to Krishna has given her immortality in a society which treats marriage as the basis of romantic love.
Krishna as a good friend came to Draupadi whenever she called. Never questioned why she called. Her trust on krishna always saved her.
Subhadra she got her soulmate because of her brother who allowed her to elope without thinking what society will think about him or what will happen to his family's pride. When he found his sister's choice was good he simply allowed her to go.
I would say the fact that Krishna will never leave the people in ditch who completely trust him, especially his role to woman who are always treated sub par in our society I guess make him the son every mother wants, makes him the lover every woman wants, makes him the friend every woman can trust and make him a brother which a woman can be proud of

We need more Krishnas in this current society too...someone who can advocate for women and their rights😊

MB for me is not just a mythological story, but a philosophical, spiritual, socio-economical and practical life lesson too.

I am almost an atheist, so I try to ignore the religious undertones although... May be it is gonna take more maturity on my part to perceive them...😊

Thanks Bharti...that's the beauty of this epic. Even people from different religions or non believers can learn a lot from it

Beautiful Post ,
though 5000+ years have passed but still these Questions are unanswered , its not because we don't know the answer its because we are purposely trying to be Ignorant .
These Question are responsible for cursed lives of many , the inequilities and injustice that prevail in our society have found their roots in these Questions itself .

Its not that the norm of the society cannot be changed , its just that people don't want to accept the change, because Adapting to change is Very Togh for few people.

Why can't women have equal rights and security as men do have ? why is her independence still a matter of mercy of men . Why is she blamed for all crime that happens against her ? why she forced to give up her desires for sake of saving virtue of a Value Oriented Family? Why is still Treated as a second gender though this so called Male Dominated Society is actually women Oriented , Take away the mother and motherhood and mankind come to a standstill.

Why do we call the love children Illegitimate ?why are they not honored by the society though each child is gods gift , he/she is special in his/ her own way.

why does discrimination on the basis of Caste still prevails ?Reservation system itself is being unfair with many who belong to poor family but do not come under reservation , Why can't they give reservations to the poor or why can't they make Primary and Secondry education free for the poor Kid , But from where will the politicians get their votes then?

When are we going to Accept Third gender as a part of society?

Is it really that tough to adopt the policy of live and let live ? I guess not but for the few of us who consider themselves as the saviors of society its really tough, for them to let go their egos and accept the change , its really tough for some of us to accept that we all are creations of god and no one is superior or inferior ,& no one is Illegitimate. Because this whole world is creation of one God , so disrespecting anyone is Disrespecting the Almighty Himself .

The Trees even Shed their leaves once in a year and welcome the change ,but don't know when are we going to do that.

Thanks Shaivi...loved your reply. If Krishna's message can influence even a few of us, then the society would be a better place to live in. You are right, most of don't want change or are scared of change...

BTW, glad to meet another KSG fan😃

You are right buddy.

Foreign culture always attract me more than our indian culture.

Women in western country have more freedom than in our India. Also no one even question or blame woman for being raped or anything wrong happened.

Single mother and illegitimate child are more accepted there.

Third gender are also accepted there.

Now look at our indian culture.

Women restriction started for their safety purpose. But nowadays in the name of safety their rights have hijacked.

Also married mother are given more respect than single mother just to avoid unnecessary sex, deceit or any future harm. It was just like a speed-breaker. But nowadays unmarried mother have hard time to live because of society.

Illegitimate (child) word are made to use for legal (law) purpose only. But our society mock the child using this word.

Why kinnars have no job to do other than looting money? Is this a fault in them or in us (countrymen)?

I strongly feel reservation system should be based on poverty. Many St/Sc parents have become rich but their children are taking advantages of cast system.

Thanks Neutral...you are right. The plight of single mothers and unwed mothers is as bad if not worse than it was in the dwaparyuga

I agree, reservation system should be based on poverty level...not caste at all.
