In any case did Arjun expect Jayadrath to cordially greet them with a bouquet and give a free pass without a fight? Obviously he would resist them. He's ENEMY. That's his job. I guess it was all to avenge their hurt ego of being defeated by a mediocre Jayadrath, whom they had previously captured and enslaved. I don't see any reason why Jayadrath would be marked for Abhimanyu's death. Of all he was least responsible for Abhimanyu's death.

I know the part Jayadrath played in it; am just wondering why him out of all those people😕. He only did what he was supposed to whereas the 6 or 7 warriors broke all rules to kill Abhi

I have been brainstorming and I did manage to come up with something. Adhering strictly to the star version, from the looks of the SBS segment- all the warriors involved were more or less already marked as prey by the Pandava side. I think almost all of them had a sword of OATH hanging on their heads. Bhim had to kill Duri and Dushy, Guru Drona was taken up by Dhrist, Ashwi had a curse from Krishna, Sahadev selected Shakuni, Karna already was in his radar.
( I didn't see the next generation kids in the picture but in case they pop up in the episode, I think Arjuna would think it's befitting for his sons to handle their peers😆). So, there was perhaps only 'available' and free slot left-Jayadrath. Considering the number of pledges and vows they make and strive to fulfil, perhaps he thought its best that he does not interfere with the tally!

Though ⭐️Arjun has another drive- guilt. Remember he was the one to let Jayadrath go scot free after a hair dressing😆

Sadhana 😆 I like your interpretation

Epic wise, even after all the prans it doesnt make any sense to go after Jayadrath. Unless, they just wanted revenge and he was the most convenient target😲

But what makes even less sense, is Arjun wanting to kill Dhrisht after the Drona killing. Granted Drona was his guru and was unarmed. But, Guru Dron was also the one who gave the order to Karna to break Abhi's bow from behind and was the leader of the maharathis who killed him. I think it is in Ramesh Menon's version that Krishna gets very angry with Yudhi and the rest of the Pandavs who question Dhrisht's action. In BRC, it is Drau and there is a very angry ArDi confrontation. She brings up the Abhi killing and thats when Arjun stops

guys, let's see first if jayadrath is included here in star bharat or not, because in offscreen pics there is no sign of him.

Anu.. disarming was the strategy.. from behind was neither proposed nor done..

Revenge via Jayadrath should be impulsive.. without giving any logical thought to it.. or the weakest/easiest target if one wants to be anti-Arjun..

I am not questioning Drona or Karna's actions. Afterall, its war and the only real rule is to kill the other guy before he can kill you

I am not even questioning Arjun going after Jayadrath. He is a father after all and from a parent POV I can understand him wanting blood. I am saying, why did he not want revenge against the ones who actually did the dirty deed and goes after only Jayadrath? I feel something is missing here in the epic, esp if putr Shrutakirti actually kills Dushy's son. Another (off screen) pran may be?

And does the guru feeling trump putr feeling later on? May be not, as he does calm down once Abhi killing is brought up (only as per BRC, dont know what happened in epic)

Arjit bhai, they have foreshadowed Jayadrath already during the salon episode

Drona did not order Karna to break Abhimanyu's bow from behind and Karna did not break it from behind.

I think Jaydrath was one of the easiest target and hence Arjuna chose him, he had already vow'd for killing Karna, why not kill him before the next sunset or immolate himself, he was not able to kill Jaydrath without help - let alone killing Karna before the sunset.

However, there can be another reason for Arjuna vowing to kill Jaydrath - Rage - He just lost his son, he was blinded by rage and he chose the first person in line viz, Jaydrath.

in my pov, jayadrath only was the starter, karna was the main course for arjun's revenge.

Nice theory but full of holes.

Arjuna used a deceit to kill Jaydrath, he did not question Krishna's doings then.

When the time of Karna came - Arjuna did not wanted to kill him by deceit, Krishna had to urge & provoke him for that.

Shouldn't main course be eaten alot heartily compared to starters, shouldn't Arjuna be more wrathful against Karna compared to Jaydrath, he was not.
