Episode begins with Vidhur cursing Dhritrashta and walking away.Dhrit and Gandhari are left looking shocked and upset.
Kunti walks into the Pandava's tent, her sons and Draupadi are all upset. Bhima says that they knew that they would have to hurt Bhishma, and even Bhishma had prepared them for this, but their hearts are not able to cope with this pain. Kunti agrees with him, saying that humans are afraid of pain. Draupadi comes near and says that duty always gives pain, that is why everyone runs away from doing their duty. Draupadi says this war is our duty and whoever dies will be remembered once the war is over, with life long tears. She says now is not the time to think about pain. Arjun agrees with Draupadi. He says when warriors are treating their wounds, they don't have the courage to return to battle the next day. Arjun wipes his tears and says the war isn't over, they must concentrate on tomorrow's strategy. Arjun says that Bhishma hasn't given up his life yet, so they must take care of his needs. Arjun asks Draupadi to bring him water and food so he can take it to Bhishma.
Bhishma is shown on his bed of arrows. Arjun comes there with water, food and medicine. Bhishma says his body has no use for such things anymore. Arjun says they will become weak if he remains in this state. Bhishma says his body will remain alive until Uttarayan, Arjun asks him to at least accept water, but Bhishma says he is Ganga's son, no other water can satisfy his thirst. Bhishma asks Arjun to make a path for Ganga. Arjun uses his Gandiv and shoots an arrow at the ground. Ganga appears and is sad seeing her son's condition. She tells Arjun that she will stay there to look after Bhishma, and that he shouldn't be upset any more. Ganga tells Arjun to preform his duty and blesses him. Bhishma and Ganga talk about his life and how he treated others. Bhishma wonders that Ganga is the most pure, so how did her son become impure? Ganga says he is purity in human form, and that she has come to give him mukti now. She says when a suitable man comes to ask him for his knowledge, he should give it away. After that she will come to take him away. Ganga leaves, and Bhishma is happy.
In the Kaurava tent, Duryodhan is addressing his army. He denies that the Pandavas are stronger or closer to victory. Duryodhan says no doubt Bhishma was a great warrior, but will still have warriors as good as him. He says we still have a warrior, as strong as Bhishma with knowledge of divine weapons and also a student of Parshuram. Drona looks expectant and Ashwathama smiles. Duryodhan announces the new Senapati to be Karna not Drona. Drona looks shocked and Karna looks surprised. Shakuni also looks worried at Duryodhan's announcement. Duryodhan says Karna has no reason to be partial towards the Pandavas. Drona walks out of the tent.
Precap: Krishna tells Arjun that Karna will be fighting from tomorrow. Arjun says Karna's aim in life has always been Arjun's death, but this won't be fulfilled in this life. Krishna says Karna has Indra's shakti.
