we can go into hair splitting argument as to what you assumed as modern rendering. Modern rendering can be modern rendering of language. I see no harm in shortening the 18th century language used in KMG to a much modern English understood by everyone.

Actually, judging a work without reading it, infact dismissing it with short imaginary review can be construed defamation. I would not tread the path if I were you.

Whatever may my grouse against KMG be, I look into the book pretty well before deciding it is not my cup of tea.

When I am debating and arguing about a character who has suffered casteism, in equalitydue to perceived birth, in short outside cover, I would be the last person to casually dismiss a well researched piece of work simple by the outside cover. But what do I know!!

let me quickly add, she was asking a rhetorical question.
If people can question Krishna's action in offering Karna draupadi and kingdom and go into derisive what ifs [ this particular thread itself ], I don't see why one cannot ask what if he indeed had won Draupadi.

They used new rendering of Yada Yada and another Krishna related shloka. SRJ looked really cool today.

Pandavas ALREADY know how to take down Bhishma? Extremely well-informed, I must say 😃

Shikhandini is Pandava senapati, but looks like that might be questioned tomorrow

Panchali doing tilaks for her sons and aaryas - awesome scene 😊

Will Sanjaya get divine vision or not? No indications yet...

Krishna in the middle of the battlefield - the most amazing image ever!!
One of the purposes of the Avatara has arrived!!

Explanation for Kurukshetra - I loved how Krishna said whoever dies here, goes to Heaven
So, ⭐️Kauravas are not the blackwashed villains that they are painted to be...

Where is Dhristadyumna?? Didn't see him in the Pandava camp...

Are Panchal & Matsya (alongwith Krishna) the ONLY Pandava allies in this war? No Satyaki and all?

From my understanding and reading, here's what I 've concluded: every human being has a quota of sins and virtues. If they sin more then they first go to heaven for their good deeds and then end up in hell for a long time. People who perform more good deeds, first get a glimpse of hell for some of their bad deeds/sins and then settle down in heaven

That's why Dury first had heaven darshan (he had some good qualities for sure- one being dying like a true kshatriya) and then must have rotted in hell afterwards

Similarly, Yudi had a glimpse of hell for his one lie on the battlefield but then later went to heaven

mahabharat kaa yuddh nikat hain aur yahaa toh karnabharat chid gayi hain, btw, dhrishtadyumna ko chor ke shikhandini ko senapati banaanaa thik hain. par iskaa matlab yeh nahi ke pehle din pitamah bhishma kaa patan hogaa, kaurav avashya vyuh rachanas karenge unhe protect kar ne ki.

Dr Model.. I dont know what stopped you from changing my understanding before Leadnitrate could.. while I did see you are in the thread very much.. I dont like this backing off.. You clearly said he desired but refused because he will have to give to Dury.. if you again refuse I cant do anything..

Leadnitrate.. From what citations I have read in the Different versions thread, I am quite sure how I understand 'Modern Rendering' is right.. I might read it if I ever feel interested but definitely wont bring that for my support into arguments..

about discussions on Krishna's offer here, no one spoke if Draupadi desired Karna.. I know what would have happened had it been spoken.. so I dont want to let anyone be easy on saying Karna desired..
