I really cant understand why people are still wasting their time with this overrated show.
Its nothing but a sensationalized glossy version/representation of our epic targeted at the diminishing values and short attention spans of the delusional generations of today's world

Exactly, Sabhayata.

Karna did not even remember Duryodhan!!

In this serial, he is asking for forgiveness from Kunti, and even talking lovingly to the Pandavas, but no mention of Duryodhan!! 😡

And wat I didn't like is, Vrushali didn't even get the chance to be with Karna.

The mothers were doing their drama, and the 5 brothers were doing a bigger drama.

But the woman, who was married to him, and with whom, he was supposed to spend the rest of his life, was just standing away, and was allowed to hold his hands, at the very end.

This is something, I don't like.

😆

On the friendship b/w Dury & Karna, I'm w/ ⭐️B on this, given that the real Dury could have gone either way.

Remember, in his life, the real Dury never got to know Karna's real identity, or his vows to Kunti to spare 4 of the Pandavas. Despite that, when Ashwi came to him w/ news of how he had massacred the remnants of the Pandava army, Dury told him that he had achieved what neither Bheeshma, Drona nor even Karna could have achieved. In short, Dury didn't want those warriors to die for him: he wanted them to win the war for him. In that respect, what he told Ashwi Friday was correct: Ashwi could die if he wanted to, but that would do him no good.

The depiction of Dury cussing @ Karna, while at odds w/ the well known friendship in the epic, is consistent in this aspect. The epic Dury loved Karna b'cos he was not a Pandava. Remember, the Pandavas didn't hate Dury either, but he hated them anyway. Similarly, had he known that Karna was a son of Kunti, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that he'd have loathed them just like he did the other sons of Kunti.

I was never a fan of BRC's depiction of Dury loving Karna all the more when Bheeshma told him about Karna's real identity. That was as fictional as what ⭐️B showed. The reason Dury befriended Karna wasn't only b'cos of Karna's wanting to fight Arjun: he befriended him b'cos Karna was outside the family (or so he thought) and not a contender for the throne of Hastinapur.

So while it's fine to condemn ⭐️B for making the entire Karna death sequence a fictional piece, filled w/ the melodrama of Kunti, Radha & Vrushali running to the battlefield, there is no reason to lambaste them for insulting the Dury-Karna friendship. After all, in the real Dury-Karna friendship, Dury had no idea that his best friend was actually the half brother to his sworn enemies.

It's a stretch to argue that had he known, it'd not have made any difference.

I think that's what they meant by 'it's Mahabharata for the 21st century' 😆

I agree fully! I didn't find it wrong in this aspect.

One thing that struck me about Friday's episode: when Karna asks Arjun to take care of his son (presumably Vrishaketu)

Arjun in response tells him that Vrishaketu would get what Karna should have gotten - the throne of Indraprastha. I understand the CV fascination for kaju & all that, but my question remains: how is Mahanayak the one to offer the throne to Karna's son? Shouldn't that statement at least have been given to Yudhi to mouth?

And why don't they show Karna's son, if they're talking about him?

Vrish,
Can't agree more with what you have said about Dury-Karn friendship.

Here is a curve ball, hindsight do you think Karn should have stayed away from the war ? Would it mar his glory ? Would we still hold him in that high esteem, had he not participated ?

He knew what was going to happen in the war - it's there in what he told Krishna. He knew that he'd die and that the Pandavas would win, and he was fine w/ attaining eternal glory by death.

What makes his story tragic is not so much his dying in battle, but rather, him being denied proper recognition by his own mother, until the time she needed him.

From the first episode that they showed Kunti and started their whitewash exercise on her, I started hating this serial

Completely agree with mother's neglect and recognition. Less said on ⭐️ CVs The better.😡
Might sound stupid, let me put this way,

What would have made Karn not participate in the war and still he get all the glory etc ?

I know one answer would be to injure him before war, but would he have still gotten that everlasting glory that he has now ?
