just watched today's episode ... i was cursing at the TV the entire time. Partly for the silliness they showed in the serial, partly for the curses, partly because of Krishna's randomness (not cursing Krishna, more so the serial) ... mostly for the Draupadi being staked part 😠surprisingly no cursing due to distortion today. I'm so proud of myself!
Anyway a few things I noticed:
1. We all know that Krishna was in war with Salva, but did you guys notice that Krishna had no charioteer again. 😆
2. One thing I never got was the whole series of curses. FYI, this entire post is going to be independent of distortions from the epic. I just found it hard to believe that Bhishma would actually curse Duryodhan as such. Sure Duryodhan did bad things, but I would find pretty weird for a grandsire such as Bhishma to be characterized as someone who seems to be very anti-Duryodhan. I mean, even parents forgive their children for their crimes right?
3. Did Drona actually curse Ashwatthama or was it just one of those "if you weren't my son you will get this curse .."
4. Arjun's curse to Karna is also a bit odd, but what disappoints me more is that this marks the end of KaJu. And this is coming from a staunch KaJu fanatic.
5. One thing I couldn't understand was that Yuddhistir did revolt a bit, which was awesome to see. But one thing I'm hoping SP will include is why, after all these events that show the gang's loyalty to Draupadi, they remained silent. Yuddhi was still a slave when he broke the dice and thereby disrespecting his master. Yuddhi was still a slave when he spoke to Duryodhan in a high voice... Even the other Pandavas found their voice...
6. A phoorvabhas is a prediction of the future. So can it be prevented?
7. I also am curious to see SP explain the silence of Bhishma and Drona. Surprisingly, Vidura isn't speaking against the dice game much. The last time I think I heard anything from him was when he delivered the invitation.
Oh and some good news folks. I think I've cracked why Draupadi can be staked. See when Yuddhi lost himself, Dury became the self proclaimed emperor .. the samrat. Naturally, his wife will be the samragini. This makes it equivalent in a sense -- samragini Bhanumati vs. samragini Draupadi. Of course it's still unclear why Draupadi remains a Samragini, but she was called a Samragini after Yuddhi lost himself so ...
All in all ... it wasn't a bad episode in a SP sense. Props to the actors
