Uttar , son of virat and brother of Uttara ( wife of abhimanyu),his story is funny and inspiring. Funny because what he was and inspiring what he became. When Duryodhana army attacked virat kingdom , Uttar went to battlefield with Arjuna dressed as Brihannala. At the very sight of such a large army and brave warriors like Bhishma, Dronacharya, karn he decided to escape. He started shivering with fear and all his courage turned into fear. Arjuna chased him and dragged him to the chariot. Went to shamee tree and took his weapons and then single handedly destroyed that mighty army. Karn, Bhisma , Drona, kripacharya no one could stop him and face his fury. Seeing that sight that coward young prince got charged and started driving that chariot like he was born to fight. Unfortunately he got hit by an arrow so Arjuna had to use Sammohan astra to stop the war. When they returned to his kingdom victorious . Everybody praised him but after a while he told the truth how Arjuna was the real hero.
Who knew then the same coward will become first big king to die on first day of Mahabharat. That day he promised to never return fearing his death. His wound stopped Arjuna to fight further whom nobody could have stopped. Uttar at a very young age faced great king shalya ( un fortunate uncle of Pandavas). He fought so bravely that everyone was astonished to see the change, At last he succumbed to the war injuries and got killed by Shalya but this time there was no cowardly exit. No injury could stop that young lad to lay his life for war of Dharma. Shalya after killing him came to his dead body and bowed to his bravery. This was his victory. This story tells how a coward can change into a Hero, how one can overcome his shortcomings.who knew that in a war of big personalities having powerful divyaastras like those of Arjuna, Karna, Bhisma, Drona, Ashwathama, a ordinary human being will make his mark.
