Arjun couldn't help but smile at his daughter...he said" chalo ab tum mata ke paas jao, woh tumhae suladegi "
"nahi..." Pragati got frightened & hugged him tightly...& started crying...
"aree, bachha..." he said slowly moving his hand over her hairs..." kya huaa...? "
" raat bhar soyi nahi hai woh pitashree...nidra aarahi hogi...isiliyae aisa bartav karrahi hai..." Abhimanyu said from behind " aap usse mujhe dijiyae mein usse maa ke paas pohuchadunga...mata suladegi usse..." saying this he took Pragati from Arjun's hands & started walking towards Subhadra's chambers (Panchali being samraggi is in court)...but Pragati was in no mood to leave her daddy today...she started crying & calling out "pitashree...pitashree..."
Arjun longed to have her in her arms & soothe her..."na jane isse kya ho gaya hai pitashree..." came Prativindya's voice from his left side...

"pata nahi kyun pitashree...aajkal har jagah jati hain toh aapkae bare mein puchti hain...agar kahin aap miljate hain toh aapkao chodti nahi...aapko iss tarah jakad leti hain jaise usse aapko khonae ka darr ho...aap nahi miltae toh...khidki se jhakkar aapkae aanae ka intezaar karti hain...jab tak aap usske aankhon ke samnae nahi aa jate chain se baithti nahi...pehle jaise hasti-khelti nahi hai har waqt..." Prati replied...
Arjun looked at the retreating fighure of Abhi carrying Pragati...his body tensed...at last he took a long breath & said to prati that he will look into the matter later now he has to go to rajyasabha & went...

In the evening after Rajyasabha Arjun walked towards his chambers his mind still reeling with prati's words...he was hungry...he decided he will meet Pragati after he had his dinner & was about to enter his chambers when a dasi came running from behind "SENAPATI...SENAPATI..."
"Kya hua dasi itna cheek kyun rahi ho...?" he asked...
"Kshama Senapati...parantu woh rajkumari Pragati...woh..." dasi flustered...
Arjun's whole body tensed up...he started running towards Pragati's chambers...his life...Pragati...he shuddered & ran as fast as his legs could carry...
