StarKrishna's one statement to StarArjuna really bothered me yesterday - "(Star)Draupadi has done a big UPKAAR on the (Star)Pandavas by choosing to marry all five of them". CVs are still harping about that imaginary "sanyaas" clause...😒
I can understand that the Pandavas got a kingdom of their own only after they went back to HP after their marriage to Draupadi - so THAT could be considered an "upkaar" of sorts.

But how is the polyandrous marriage per se an UPKAAR in itself?!? On the one hand, as per the CVs "This marriage will lead to dharma ki sthapana throughout Aaryavart" (with StarKrishna giving StarDrau the five blue stones of Dharma and whatnot). And now, StarKrishna himself calls the decision of the polyandrous marriage itself an "upkaar" done by Draupadi towards the Pandavas!!! Then why talk about "Dharma ki sthapana" and all that fancy talk - if it is just an "upkaar"??

Makes me wonder if after the dice game, StarKrishna might have serious thoughts about joining the Kaurava side for Kurukshetra...or the CVs will have to give some serious justification for Yudi staking Drau and the mute passivity of the Pandavas during the vastraharan.

If I have to use StarDuri's words - "Draupadi ke (so-called) upkaar ka yeh prati-phal mil raha hai?!?"

I think they have been taking the idea of 'women empowerment in the modern context way too seriously. They are too busy preaching about how women should be respected via Draupadi, to realize that they are contradicting themselves, to hell with the plot and logic. I like Draupadi as a character, but they are going overboard in glorifying her rather than present her as human.

Where is the pride that one associates with Draupadi? Stardraupadi instead thinks that war is
bad and felling trees is a sin. She makes all the 'sacrifices'. They have turned Draupadi into vehicle for the show's 'social messages'.

Exactly why StarDrau irritates and annoys me so much. Make no mistake, I completely adore Ved Vyasa's Draupadi. But, StarDrau is just 🤢.

Ever since she made that 'anti-war' statement, she has come in for special treatment from me.

I would've appreciated StarDrau a lot more, if the CVs had presented the character with ALL her flaws and personality traits - but in StarBharat, she is the queen of martyrdom.

Yes! I was simply taken aback when StarKrishna uttered that she did a 'Upkaar' on the five brothers. Contradictions...double standards! Uff!

Someone needs to remind the CVs as well as StarKrishna that Draupadi and the Pandavas are "completely incomplete" without one another.

The Pandavas attained Indraprastha (& later Hastinapura) ONLY due to their association with Draupadi.
Draupadi achieved the purpose of her birth ONLY due to her association with the Pandavas. Look, what if someone else had married her? The story of the Mahabharata would've been completely different.

It is a mutually beneficial equation. I see no such thing as 'upkaar' in this equation.

I dont understand why all serials are hell bent upon showing subhadra kidnapping arjun while it was the other way around. The chapter is called Subhadra-Harana Parva and not Arjun-Harana. its arjun who abducts subhadra on being told to do so by krishna.

😡

i do understand that now for us its seems much more romantic but its quite a dare for a girl in those days to abduct a warrior that too arjun!! and wouldnt it have been considered utmost insult to arjun then?
😕

well at least StarArjun's face was worth watching when StarSubhadra says that i can abduct your Partha!

Starbharat took it to a whole new level by making Arjuna worry about his self-respect because ek kanya ne ek yoddha ka apaharan kiya...😆

Now I know why I like SY & SD.. both are too much of mahanics 😕 btw.. I dont understand why Shakuni and Krishna are being compared as stratergists of their time one being for Adharma and other Dharma.. What Shakuni did as a stratergists actually? he suggested a simpler way to win Indraprastha without blood shed.. upon Duryodhan's insistence.. he was skilled in rolling the dice.. he was tactical or smart or stratergical in the game.. outside that where was he a strategist?

I think we should just forget that this is supposed to be Mahabharat and watch it like a regular fiction. May be we can digest it better then. 😆
