Dont know if Yuvrajabhishek of any of the Prince had happened, actually. I dont think so. And Abhimanyu was older ( if not the oldest) than some of the sons, since he took part in the war and other 5 sons did not.

Arjuna wanted Uttara to marry his Son and Abhimanyu was the older one. Iravan and Babru dont count since he they were the responsibilities of their Mother and their Families. Babru was the King hier of his maternal grandfather so Arjuna did not have the right to make him marry, that was Babrus grandfathers decision. Irawan too, had not met Pandavas before the war.

Abhimanyu was born before Khandava Dahan, in 11-12 months after Arjuna-Subhadra got married. That was the time, when Subhadra fell asleep while Arjuna was telling her about Chakravyus. That story, you all know already.

After that, Arjuna never got to continue because Krishna took him for Khandava Dahan. Around that time, Abhimanyu was born.

After the Khandava forest burnt down completely, Agni deva decided to give Arjuna, The Gandiva.

Now, in Viraat Parva, after the end of 13 years exile, Arjuna says that he has been carrying Gandiva for more than 30 years. So, how can Abhimanyu be 15-16 when Arjuna has been carrying the Gandiva for more that 30 years? Both Abhimanyu and Gandiva came in Arjunas life in the same year, Abhimanyu, perhaps, a little bit before that.
