The word platonic means nonsexual or spiritual , and non physical . so that all the readers get clear meaning of what i meant.

This post is based on characters not actors

If Mahabharata has two characters who have received the most humiliation for no fault whatsoever, one is Draupadi and the other is Karna.

Karna was great. May be greater than Arjuna . He was called suta putra in spite of being surya putra and eldest of kunthi's sons.

He was never acknowledged whole in life.

Only person who acknowledged him was duriyodadana despite of his caste made him anga raj for that karna remained loyal to duriyodhan and never abandoned him knowing fact pandavas was his own blood.

It was about karna it is said never ask starting points of great rivers and great people.

This was karan to us.

So coming back to my point what was equation he shared with Draupadi.

What if draupadi had not rejected him in the first place.

Draupadi has longed for a husband who will have wisdom and moral values, will be strong and well built, a good archer, handsome and intelligent.

Karna is the only character in Mahabharata who has all these qualities. The gods knew Draupadi's wish well ahead of time and gave all these qualities to one man.

Its fate or destiny which parted Draupadi and Karna. He would have been a better only' husband for her than the five she got as he was as good as any of the pandavas when it came to virtues and valour.

But from the political and "Dharma's" point of view, she has to be married with Pandavas. Thats the plan.Karna negates Arjuna, which creates a balance.

Drupadi herself denied karna in swayamwar calling him sutaputra .hence embraced destiny that led to her only suffering nothing else.

This insult caused her own downfall court. An enranged karna took his revenge . karnaa may have stopped Drupadi s public humiliation in public

He has the power at that time. Instead he fuelled oil in fire.

Many years later, she learned from Krishna that Karna is not a suta putra but the eldest son of Kunti. To this, Draupadi regrets saying,

"If I had married him, I would not have been gambled away, publicly humiliated and called a wh**e. For he has all the qualities possessed by my 5 husbands."

So she ended up marrying a man who shared her with his brothers and failed to protect her when she needed him the most.

There is another legend which says that its Karna who prevented the rape of Draupadi by Vasuki. Vasuki could only be pacified by the eldest Kunti-putra (Karna).

Draupadi has always favored Arjuna but alas, Arjuna was not happy with the fact that he has to share the prize he has won with 4 brothers. Arjuna, on the other hand, favored Subhadra. Draupadi knew this too, which is why she starts having a soft corner for the next best archer, Karna.

Karna gives back to Draupadi

In the 12th day of the battle, Arjuna had made a vow to kill Jayadratha (Duryodhana's brother in law). This is because Jayadratha was instrumental in holding off all the other 4 Pandavas in the first gate of "Chakravyuh" , which caused the death of Arjuna's brave son, Abhimanyu.

Since Arjuna has made the vow that either he will kill Jayadratha or he will take "Agni Samadhi", Drona laid out this plan that by the time Arjuna is busy fighting Jayadratha, he can capture Yudhistira.

Bheema was appointed the defence of Yudhistira and hence Duryodhana asks Karna to involve Bheema, so that Drona can capture Yudhistira.

Karna challenges Bheema and fights bravely. He holds him through out the day. Bheema is superior to Karna in Gada (the mace) and Karna is superior to Bheema in archery. Hence, both of them decide to use a neutral weapon - the spear.

At the end of the day, Karna succeeds in defeating Bheema and there comes a point when Bheema is armless and Karna holds his spear towards Bheema's neck. But Karna decides not to kill Bheema.

There are two reasons why he doesn't kill Bheema, despite having all the options to do so.

1. Karna has given his word to Kunti, that his 5 sons will remain alive. If he kills Bheema, he can't kill Arjuna.

2. If Karna kills Bheema, he would do injustice to Draupadi's unstrangled hair. Draupadi has taken a vow that until and unless someone brings the blood of Dussasana's heart and wets her hair, she will never tie her hair. Bheema has made a vow that he will kill Dussasana and bring his hearts blood to Draupadi. If he kills Bheema in this battle, he will do injustice to Draupadi.

Furthermore, Karna had earlier protected Draupadi from Vasuki and then Draupadi had touched his feet saying

"Hey Angraj Karna, please forgive me for my innocence for unfairly denying you participation in my wedding competition and calling you "Suta Putra", I take back my words .Today you have protected my modesty. After Shree Krishna, it is you who have protected my modesty and hence, you have risen to a Godly level in my heart. I, panchali, the wife of Pandavas, the daughter of Drupad, the sister of Dhristadhumnya, the mother of 5 brave sons, respect you to equal level of my husbands."

To this Karna had said

"Hey Devi, hey Annapurna, hey Kalyani, forgive me too, for I had insulted you in the courtroom. I was blind in the agony of revenge and I didn't realize your worth. Please forgive me too. I will ensure justice is done to your hair."

Karna decides to walk away and not kill Bheema.

When Draupadi learns that Karna had spared the life of Bheema, her love and respect for Karna is magnified.

One question arises from following situations

Was Draupadi was in love with karna or the vice versa ?

Will they made a good couple if destiny allowed them. May be ?

Drupadi longed for a companionship. She fell for great Arjuna . And married to his four brothers.

But did pancahli got what she wanted from Arjuna or others. It was only Bhemma who loved her truely and fulfilled her every wish.

But what if She married to karna?

Would karna shared his wife to his brothers even if kunthi acknowledged him in the beginning.

My answer is no.

And may because i am not history writer i cant say.

But judging karna's character so far he will never do such thing.

But once again this is mahabaratha

A story where dharma wins against Adrama

And great kanaha knows this

He knows if karna wins Drupadi there no mahabarth

No Yutdh or no public humiliation of Drupadi as well as pandavas.

Krishna was trilok jhani nnd Antrayami.

So he allowed what is necessary.

So before ending my topic one word to readers

This post is not offended any one. Healthy discussions are welcome both positive and negatives.

I respect your POV dear .. But here it may lead to another Mahabharat , sorry ..
About your post , I don't know why but I cant digest Karna and Draupadi in one frame .. When it could have happened it didn't so what is the point of discussing it now .. And Draupadi was born to serve a greater purpose , she was not meant to be together with Karna .. She was destined to be pandavas commonwife to lead to the war .. Regarding that vasuki story , it is a folklore and I couldn't find any relation to it in my original copy .. Regarding Karna , ofcourse I respect him too much for all his virtues , but he somewhat had fallen in my eyes for that courtroom incident .. He was an intellectual, such words coming out from his mouth were like fire leaping outta water ..
Valiant men respect women , they shouldn't disrespect them .. Sorry if I hurt anyone ... But this is what I think ..
And dear Draupadi never said she wanted to marry Karna .. You all only say can you think good of a man who publicly called u a w***e and encouraged her disrobing let alone thinking about marrying her ???
I may like someone but I will never close my eyes to his/her wrong doings ..
And how can even Karna desire draupadi after she rejected him in the swayamvar ... She was somebody else's wife and just hinting towards this angle projects Karna's character in bad light too ...

still what is the guarantee tat he wud hav hit target?? he is a great archer but nothing is greater than fate n draupadi was made fr pandavas not karna so if she wud not hav rejected him something else wud hav happend n he wud not have won..simple

so u want to say that lord shiva was wrong??lord shiva said their cant be a person having all the virtues..so u mean tat he was wrong ??

Its fate or destiny which parted Draupadi and Karna. He would have been a better only' husband for her than the five she got as he was as good as any of the pandavas when it came to virtues and valour.

where is the proof tat he cud be a better husband ?? can u giv any?? n how is it tat pandavas r not good husbands??

But from the political and "Dharma's" point of view, she has to be married with Pandavas. Thats the plan.Karna negates Arjuna, which creates a balance.

Drupadi herself denied karna in swayamwar calling him sutaputra .hence embraced destiny that led to her only suffering nothing else.

oh please she called him suthputra so did he hav right to molest her?? do u even kw wat u r saying??so wat he was called suth putra acco to draupadi he was suth putra n she doesnt want to marry him..its her swayamvar n her wish.. no one has right to force her not even drupad..

Many years later, she learned from Krishna that Karna is not a suta putra but the eldest son of Kunti. To this, Draupadi regrets saying,

"If I had married him, I would not have been gambled away, publicly humiliated and called a wh**e. For he has all the qualities possessed by my 5 husbands."

citation please from vyas jis MB not any palace of illusions or watever book..

and again m saying he DOES NOT hav all the qualities if he had then lord shiva wud nt hav tld that a single person cant posses all the qualities..

So she ended up marrying a man who shared her with his brothers and failed to protect her when she needed him the most.

may be if karna was in place of pandavas he too wud not have saved her aft becoming a servant of some1 else ..so do u have proof tat he wud hav??

There is another legend which says that its Karna who prevented the rape of Draupadi by Vasuki. Vasuki could only be pacified by the eldest Kunti-putra (Karna).

this is rubbish bheel bharata version which is crap..

Draupadi has always favored Arjuna but alas, Arjuna was not happy with the fact that he has to share the prize he has won with 4 brothers. Arjuna, on the other hand, favored Subhadra. Draupadi knew this too, which is why she starts having a soft corner for the next best archer, Karna.

do u have proof tat she favoured arjun always??

NOO she does not have any soft corner towards karna.. all she has is hatred..no women wil have any soft corner to the person who called her w***e or who suggested vastraharan..so a big NO fr wat u said..

Karna gives back to Draupadi

nonsense he never thought abt draupadi in this instance dnt overinterprit.. karna nly was keeping his promise to kunti thats it..if he wud hav thot abt her he wud nt hav suggested the vastraharan nor called her w***e so stop gloryfying him..

Furthermore, Karna had earlier protected Draupadi from Vasuki and then Draupadi had touched his feet saying

this is bheel MB vesion which is nothing but folktale.. do u think draupadi will go to karna when her friend is none other than lord shri krishna??think logically

Karna decides to walk away and not kill Bheema.

When Draupadi learns that Karna had spared the life of Bheema, her love and respect for Karna is magnified.

nonsense she NEVER loved him forget abt magnifying..she hated him to eternity..by saying she loved some1 else u r insulting a great sati like draupadi who was devoted to her husbands..

karna winning draupadi is NOT possible fst of all as she was nt made fr him..if at all it wud hav happend then she wud nt hav been happy with him becoz he was devoted to dhuri which she wud nt hav put up with..n who kws he wud hav given her off to dhuri .. so u cant say her life wud hav been better..

This post is so controversial and will only create unnecessary fights. Its better if mods kindly lock this topic.

I am least interested to know who was Draupadi but please stop linking her with Karna. He ONLY and TRULY loved his wife. And, connecting Draupadi with Karna is an insult to a great soul like Karna. 🤢

if she had married him, what wisdom and what dharm would have followed Karna, that of Duryodhan? After all Karna basically supported Duryodhan all his life (which is a tragedy)
We can say all about how Druapadi was wrong etc, because we know what happened, at that swayamvar nobody knew what was going to happen, except Shri Krishna, and since Draupadi was close to him, he guided her.

Most everyone insulted Karna for his so called caste, but why target Draupadi only? the society at large insulted him...

Besides I believe her decision to not marry Karna was a personal one, if she didnt want to marry him for whatever reason she had the right to do so, after all its a Varmala not a Vadhumala, we know that Karna was a noble person, but did she know that? so for that reason we can not judge her for rejecting him, besides people reject potential alliances for the stupidest reason, skin color, habits, race, etc...
