Perhaps Drupad was playing on the possibility that Arjuna was alive and thus made it so difficult that only he could win it, of course he didnt count on Karna but then that never ruined his plan anyway thanks to Draupadis rejection.

that is right.. but Dury's opinion was valid too.. that he doesnt think it was a swayamvar but a plan to insult those who are less skilled in Archery

i think the archers were treated as foremost warriors or best warriors at that time.or let us say higher in ranking. may b thats why u see mostly in swayanvar the competition was mostly related to dhanush(bow).hence may b drupad wanted the best archer to win.thats an assumption based on few observations.if its wrong forgive my limited knowledge 😊
