That's actually not true... They are showing the love angle for two reasons...

1. This is a soap opera..so they have to make it interesting ( even though it is an epic story, and religious story!) ( And I am not saying I agree to this but i'm just stating the reason why...)

2. More importantly, this was part of the story... Here's an excerpt:

It's that partiality that's being portrayed and like I said above, it's a tv soap opera so they have to make it more mirchi and entertaining to get ratings.
