I actually dig the idea of a western version of Mahabharat, its been done already by Peter brook on a modest scale and with theatre performers. If youve seen peter brooks Mahabharat , you will have noticed how minimal the production was and the faces behind the characters were mostly theatre actors which is why they were able to infuse their roles with great convinction. Troy and LOTR happens to be some of my favourite films, it would be unusual yet interesting to see the hollywood fraternity attempt to re-envision our epic as it is hollywood are well equipped in their visual/technical department and one can imagine just how impressive n grand it might be with the right actors/ faces, plus you feel they will do justice to the story with in-depth research because they are professionals above anything else.

My choice for Vin diesel n Orlando bloom are self-explanatory, the latters Legolas character bears many similarities with Arjuna. Cillian Murphy as Duryodhan has a seriousness and hard features that feels sinister while Tom Hardy has the generally roguish type image that suits Dushashan. Richard Armitage has an endearing face and such a deep voice that lends well to depth and intrigue of Karna, Jon Hamm has that introspective mentality n thoughtfulness that characterises Yudhisthira, James Franco has a mischievous glint that would match the light-hearted disposition of Nakula, Liu Gong has that wonderful dignity whilst Ralph Fiennes has that fragility to him that would fit Dhritarashtra, Diane Kruger looks ethereal. Of all the bollywood faces Asin strikes me as the most decent and underrated.

Hmm, I wondered who would suit Krishnas role.. no one appropriate has crossed my mind as yet
