👏 Got to learn a lot from your post. Yes.. this is a flimsy, filmy stuff.. In Hindi movies, all tribals, Aadivaasis are made fun of and are shown to talk in gibberish and having gibberish customs and singing songs like 'Mombasa..' (I like C. Ramchandra by the way..) So looks like some new CV trying to show his hand at amateur creativity..

PS. In Bengali language Bibhisan is synonymous of treacherous.
If u r referring to the phrase 'ghorer shotru Bibhisan' it is more appropriately an innuendo, because at the end of the day Bibhishan did support Ram over his own brother Raavan, and gave Ram all the info plus he was made the king after Raavan's death.

It has been quite long that CVs are making masaladar daily soap demeaning the glory of an epic - a literature .. Today they murdered another thing i.e HISTORY and I am not talking about Mytho-History but pure history here

What the heck it was in the name of Hidimba-Bheem wedding. It looked some uncultured brute or foolish creature from some fairy tale are jumping and doing silly attributes making silly gesture n postures .. what a disgusting way to make mockery of something. You showed rakshas as some dull headed creatures .. who has no brain no education and laughing stalk to so called developed race.

Let me remind you RAKSHASH means Non-Aryan Natives of this country. A very developed clan as much as Aryans if not more. Check History Rakshash aka non Aryans were quite advance in cultural field along with architecture, science and by social measure. do Not forget Rakshas aka non Aryan natives who once established "Indus valley civilization" was acquainted with URBAN civilization what Aryans was not. They have been mocked tortured and demeaned for ages but what is this even in modern days you people portraying them with such mean ways.

You must think what message you are giving to the new gen watching it. By being the native of our country they should be respected as our ancestors but such dishonoring depiction is a shame of us that still entertainment world display them nothing but a dull headed brainless creature..

I agree. but it was so much fun. I laughed so much to see those Rakshas. They are so cute and adorable. and Bheem was so dashing so I think Rakshas were jealous of him. Hidimba also loved Bheem and hence she married him. She did not marry because of custom but because of true love. Hidimba was savitri.
So how can she be non-Aryan ? 😲She is so nice. I respect her.

Watching yesterday,I couldn't control my laugh until those funny rituals stopped...😆😆
But if really those Demons were civilized then it is a big shame for the CVs to make their fun.😕

i think they tried to show how rakshasas were diff than aryan people n why aryans were called superior. may b many will (not us 😛 ) will ask what was the problem in marrying if they were also civilized people n how can they b called rakshasa.atleast my grandmother will have questioned this.though ur post is really interesting. i think it has been a trend that ralhas wear "ajeebogareen" dtesses n drink too much n have no boundations or rules.
i dont know abt bengali version. but in my place though vibhisan is called "ghar ka bhedi lanka dhaye"
he is still considered to be a dharmatma n quite knowledgable person. he is perceived as devotee of ram.so as per me that example was apt.

according to us treachery is the worst kind of adharma..
one who helped to kill son like nephew and own country they deserve to call "GHAR SHATRU" only..
Here we call all the teachers who ditched India in time of freedom fight we call them Vibhisan.

any way I would prefer to stick with Bengali culture and sayings..

I also think so.. But I expected in 21st century the things will change.. this kind of depiction only creates misconception..

at least most of the Bengali(s) look over the thing differently and Vibhisan word is used to curse one who ditches his country, family or friends.. no matter who he helped or why he went against his country. n that matters.

If u r a Bong and was a student of West Bengal Board u may know how Bibhisan is considered.
