Actor Joy Mathur will be the next entry in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's magnum opus Mahabharat on Star Plus.

Joy has been roped in to play the role of Shishupal, who is supposed to be a distant cousin of Krishna (Saurabh Raj Jain).

In Mahabharat, Krishna would have carried away Rukmini, the intended wife of Shishupal. There is also a story of Krishna giving a vow to Shishupal's mother, that he would pardon his cousin Shishupal hundred times before he decides to kill him. However, Krishna would be destined to kill Shishupal when he would commit his hundred and first mistake at Yudhishtir's Rajasuya Yagna by dishonouring Krishna. This would be when Krishna will kill Shishupal.

When contacted, Joy asked us to call later as he was busy in an assignment.

Check above the picture of Shishupal's look in Mahabharat. The actor's entry will be aired soon.
