Tonight's epi made one thing clear, one of the most important word in life of characters of this epic is "Apamaan", insult.
This chain started with Amba, Dronacharya, Drupad, Pandavas, Draupadi etc.
Before insult there is a major injustice in many cases. The character undergoing such humiliation, gets determined for revenge.
Drona's Vidya was insulted by Drupad, so he created army of his shishyas, by giving them his Vidya. He prepared them well to fight for their Guru's honour.
Drupad after getting defeated by Drona's shishyas performed a yagya to get a son, who can take his revenge.
Amba gave up her life to take revenge from Bhishma.
Draupadi's insult & injustice done to Pandavas, was the root cause of Mahabharat war.
Dharma & adharma were secondary, but insult & injustice are the key words, in this epic.
Those who took Kaurava & Pandava's side were in some way connected to them either by relation, friendship or were part of this chain of insults in some way.
What is dharma for one may be seen as adharma by others but people who took sides were very clear about their motive. Majority of the births in MB are unusual. All were born for a purpose, staring from Shikhandini, Pandavas, Kauravas, Krishna etc. That Era was very different with so many unusual events happening around. No wonder a war was necessary to end this cycle of injustice & insults.

Very nice post and well said 👏
..I think that's why Krishna must've decided that rather than ppl fighting separate wars and creating further trouble, let's combine everyone in one battlefield...It would be easier and more economical that way 😆Then it is a free for all...Finish off who ever or whtever you want to and start afresh

^^ Krishna was very practical, that's why he is considered as one of the best guide, teacher, through Bhagvad Geeta.

Well as per me one of the most important lesson the we learn from this epic is that taking revenge for your insult or 'Apamaan' is not the right way to go about life.I know as humans we tend to want revenge for our insults but at end of the day it serves no purpose.Revenge destroys the person seeking it and everyhting and everyone around him

^^ May be that era represents extreme materialism, to an extent many of these characters concentrate on achieving them. put lots of efforts, spend years while doing so. Power seemed to be the major governing factor. Power to rule, dominate, greed to get what others have, adds fire to the fuel of injustice & insult.
No wonder the suffering party wants to take revenge.
Small incidents of Apamaan, can be forgiven but a life changing event can not.
You are right about taking revenge is not the right way to go about life but the one who is insulted suffers the most, may be that person can only decide what should be done. Insulting others should be avoided consiously to start with.

^^ I've read MB in past. But while watching this show, consciously keep Ved Vyasa's version aside to enjoy & understand things shown from a different perspective. I seriously don't have any expectations while watching. But that makes it easy to accept what is appealing & reject the rest.😆

Till now I was watching this epic without any exppectations. It's getting interesting day by day. Same here...I think we are liking it better because we kept our expectations aside...We followed him...Ma Faleshu Kadachan...😃This epic teaches us what to do & what not to or never ever follow. Krishna comes to take us to a different level, he explains how to rise above all through his greatest gift to mankind- " Bhagvad Geeta". I never understood till late how much right philosophers were when they said Geeta is a guide to your life...You will find everything in there when you are in confusion...and so So So right they were...
Please enlighten more about, Karma, Akarma & Vikarma. 😊 hahahaha !! Minaxi...you really want me to blabber more😆 Should I do it in this thread??
