The only thing I didn't like was his entry. They showed him jumping off a high tower. How he climbed up at first, didn't anyone notice? But rest everything was mindblowing 😎

I haven't watched the episode as yet, but going by the first post in this thread-

Whatever Karna spoke are 21st century dialogues. Class/ Caste was - and till recently- was indeed a major factor in people's lives. No one- in the Dwapara Yuga - would have even dreamed of questioning the validity of the social laws.

Perhaps the serial hyped it up a bit. The crowd would not have shouted "Suta putra Go away" or something like that. If anything they would have been intrigued that someone from a lower class could challenge the royal princes.

Secondly Sutas were NOT shudras. They were not untouchables. Sutas were Kshatriyas, but belonged to a lower class.

One thing I've always thought - Karna's life seems to reinforce the caste system, rather than contradict it. I mean, he was born to Kunti, and as a result, he couldn't be anything but a kshatriya. Which was pretty much the basis of the caste system.

A better example in proving the limitations of the caste system would have been Drona/Kripa/Ashwatthama - none of whom did their Brahmanical duties, but were nonetheless very appreciated by Duryodhan.

I am not getting what you were referring to. No body knew he was born to Kunti. But even when Adhiratha adopted him, he would still have been a kshatriya- albeit of the Suta class.

Nobody knew it. But the whole basis of the caste system was that one could be what one was born as. For this reason, a prince born to a suta woman e.g. Vidura, Yuyutsu... could not be kings. Birth was very much important.

And in this case, the basis was reinforced. Karna was born to Kunti, a princess, and lo & behold, he grew up to be a warrior. Had he simply followed Adiratha's footsteps and been a charioteer & never bothered about weapons, then it could have been held that one's environment is more important in determining one's future, than one's birth.

His brothers are another example to the contrary that sutas could be good warriors. They were good enough that Arjun had to be the one to kill them - not Shikhandi or Nakul or Prativindya, but Arjun himself.

It was a 'Karna' show today which actually turned out a lot better than the recent hyped ones. He uttered some of the best ever dialogues and undoubtedly this is one of the best episodes so far. The last one I liked was Bhishma's show.
So Karna enters jumping off the tour just after setting his future friend free and thus, announcing his arrival. The background score is a treat to ears, next only to Bhishma's. Karna's arguments were so true. Nobody questions what's the Gotra of the lotus on Shiva's head. The lotus's beauty is its lone identity, then why do they question him? And I adored the way he glorified his parents and admitted he feels proud when people address him as 'Radheya'. Indeed you should be proud Karna! Alas being Kunteya was your misfortune that led to many more misfortunes. A man equal to the other doesn't get an opportunity just because he's the son of a chariot driver...disgusting!

Dhikkaar hai us par Jo apne Maata-Pita ke pehchan se apmaanit mehsoos karta ho.

I loved the above dialogue. This is so true...
I was a bit surprised seeing Drona opposing Kripa when he questioned Karna about his identity.
Felt very bad when the crowd began screaming Sut Putra go away! Hated Bhim for the same...
Now coming to the performance, I have never seen Aham in any show neither I had heard of him. And his slim figure did bother me a bit. I've posted regarding this earlier. But today he stole the show through his outstanding performance and I must admit he's the best actor after Arav sir. His eyes had turned red, what a performance!

Outstanding and fabulous actor , he who playing KARNA.. 👏👏
