Its not the case with Ramayan as Vamiki's Ramayan is only the most popular version .. Again its considered so because Valmiki was a contemporary of Rama .. But you also have Bhavartha Ramayan, Ananda Ramayan, Kamban's version etc .. Thats the difference between Mahabharatha and Ramayana wrt interpretations ..

Arjun's quiver was exhausted in his last battle, when he was trying to save the Yadava survivors from bandits. First, like Karna, he forgot the mantras to those weapons (but ain't divyastras overkill for bandits? 😆) and then his quiver became empty after he had used up what was in it. Then he just had to helplessly watch the Yadava girls get abducted by the bandits.

I sometimes wonder - did anybody ever curse Arjun that this would happen to him for killing Karna? Just like the Vasu curse on him to go to hell unless killed by Babruvahana?

not a curse for killing Karna.. but his special powers were taken back (when I don't know) for two reasons.. one - his main job was done with Kurukshetra war.. two - he got too proud thinking he was the sole reason for victory of Pandavas which Krishna wanted to prove wrong.. these are from a narrative I heard sometime back..

In Mausala parva, one of the things that happens b4 the final events is that Krishna's divine accessories - his sudarshan, his mace, his chariot & horses all leave him & head to swarga. Essentially, Krishna's powers were gone, so it's fair to assume that his avatar had ended at that point.

I happen to think that when Krishna lost all that, Arjun too lost his powers, but simply was unaware of it, since it wasn't being tested, since all his enemies were now subdued. So until that final encounter w/ the dacoits, he had no idea of what he was capable of any more. After Yudisthir stepped down & the Pandavas went to Dwarka as a part of their pilgrimage, Arjun returned his Gandhiva to Varuna.

I wonder whether this serial will go that far?
