But duryodhan intervened and point blankly refused to give evn a small piece of barren land to them .. Thus no peacemaking could be done and the war happened...

@Simplysappy - Correct! Also he told Bhishmapitah and Drutrashtra that if they don't accept peace than Kauravas would die and Drutrashtra will become childless...so he basically challenged them with sweet words. 😆 Which provoked Duryodhan, just like he wanted.

Who was the son of ghatotkach n how he died ?

son of ghatotkach was belalsen ... He had 3 spl arrows dat wud never finish from his quiver... He had come to fight the mahabharat war but had promised to someone (sorry m 4getting whom he had promised) that he'll always fight from the side having less no. of soilders ... And his one arrow was capable of finishing more than half of the opponent's army in one go ... Wen shree Krishna learnt abt that he went to belalsen to test him.. He asked him to do a hole in the tree's leaves with his one arrow evn the fallen ones ... Krishna took one leaf and kept it under his feet to test if the magical arrows can work on him. N atlast wen the arrow pierced his feet kanha was shocked that how cud it work on him ... He then asked belal that his one arrow wud kill more than half of the kaurava's so will he swap sides and fight from their side .. Belal said yes .. Then Krishna further said he'll support adharma by being on their side ... But belal said that he couldn't break the promise and is bound to do so ... Realising that this was a potential threat for the pandavas he asked belal to give him a promise that watevr Krishna asks for he'll give him dat immediately... Wen belal said yes Krishna asked for his head and belal obliged him by doing so ... In return Krishna gave him a boon dat he'll b able to see the war with only his head...
