The article is about Sanjay , who is a character in the great epic of Mahabharat.
Sanjay was the charioteer of King Dhritarashtra. Father of Sanjay was also the charioteer of Kuru Dynasty. Hence , Sanjay was brought up in the palace premises.
After the death of his father , Sanjay started serving King. He was the witness of the gambling in which Kouravas cheated Pandavas and made them to go to forest. Sanjay was unhappy with this development.
Besides Vidura , only Sanjay had the courage of telling Dhritarashtra what is right and what is not. Dhritarashtra was blind.
Once, Maharshi Vyas had come to court . That time , battle between Kouravas and Pandavas was announced.
Maharshi Vyas told Dhritarashtra that Kouravas will get defeated and also will be killed . To witness war of Mahabharat , Vyas liked to give eyes to Dhritarashtra .
But Dhritarashtra refused. So, Vyas gave special power to Sanjay , according to that Sanjay can witness the happenings of battle field from wherever he is.
Using that special power, Sanjay can describe the war scene to Dhritarashtra.
Sanjay had told about the death of Duryodhan , son of Dhritarashtra by Bhim to Dhritarashtra. Though , Dhritarashtra didnt show his emotions at that time, he was having grudge against Bhim as Bhim killed his son., Duryodhan.
After war, when Pandavas had come to meet Dhritarashtra , Dhritarashtra wanted to hug Bhim. Krishna knew what Dhritarashtra is upto , instead of Bhim , he made an iron statue to stand infront of Dhritarashtra.
Being unaware of this, Dhritarashtra hugged the statue so tightly that statue was broken to pieces ! After that Dhritarashtra thought that he had killed Bhim and fell unconcious on the ground. Sanjay took care of Dhritarashtra and consoled him.
Sanjay spent his later life with Dhritarashtra in forest. But when Dhritarashtra , Gandhari and Kunti were engulfed by a forest fire , Dhritarashtra ordered Sanjay to leave the place. Sanjay went to Himalayas to spend his last days.
