Oh, dear Minakshi did that for me. Actually, as per I-F rules, fan fics ain't allowed in mainstream forum pages.

Satyavati is furious and calls a meeting w/ Bheeshma, Vidura, Subala/Sudarma & Shakuni.

Satyavati: Vidura, you are a saboteur, and have a really rotten sense of timing. You knew everything that was going on for the last few months, right?

Vidura: Yeah, Rajmata

Satyavati: I sent Bheeshma to Gandhara to ask Gandhari's hand for Dhritarashtra, and one of the promises we made them was that Gandhari would become the queen

Vidura: Rajmata, that cannot be the criteria to select the next king of Hastinapur

Satyavati: I'm not done! Raja Subala, please tell Vidura what you told Gangaputra here

Subala: When Bheeshma told me that he wanted Gandhari for one of your princes, I was overjoyed hearing that it was for Pandu

Satyavati: And Bheeshma, what did you tell him in return?

Bheeshma: I told him that I was asking her for Dhritarashtra, not Pandu

Satyavati: Rani Sudharma, what else did he tell you?

Sudharma: We raised the concern about Dhritarashtra's blindness. But he was insistent, and told us that Dhritarashtra, not Pandu, would be king of Hastinapur, and it's only by marrying him that Gandhari would become queen. That's what got us to agree, or else, we would have insisted that she either marry Pandu, or not marry into this family at all

Satyavati: You hear that, Vidura? Now, we are liars and promise breakers in front of Subala and his family. Had you raised this earlier, I'd have authorized Bheeshma to ask for her hand for Pandu, and this embarassment would have been avoided. Unless you'd have found some pretext to deny Pandu as well

Vidura: Rajmata, you can give me any punishment, but that still won't justify putting Dhritarashtra on the throne. I agree that had this been a requirement for an alliance for Gandhar, then Gandhari too should have married Pandu

Just then Dhritarashtra comes in, hearing this, w/ a pale & worried Pandu after him. Dhritarashtra pulls out a dagger and hurls it @ Vidura. Pandu rushes and dives to save Vidura, helping him duck, and the dagger goes ahead and stabs Shakuni in his knee

Shakuni tells his parents to leave for Gandhara while he recovers 😆

Ok, my next chapter has been posted - it covers the killings of Bakasura & Narakasura, and will be followed by Draupadi's swayamvara next
