So after Dury is struck by Vriko's mace & falls, Vriko strikes him on his thighs.
D: What you did is against the rules!!!
V: What rules?
B: The rules of mace fighting!!! I'll be the one to punish you for that. How dare you break the rules?!!
V: But Guru Dau, I did not break the rules.
B: What do you mean? I saw what you did!!!
V: Then you must agree w/ me
B: Kindly explain
V: First, when I hit Dury on the thighs, it was w/ my fists, Guru Dau!!! Didn't you see it?
B: Yep!!!
V: Can you show me the appropriate sections of the Gada Shastras what says that it's against the rules to beat the thighs?
B: I'm not sure the Gada Shastras say anything about it.
V (triumphantly): There!!! I knew there was squat about that. So at least here, you concede that I didn't break any rules??!!
B: I guess so. But what about after that?
V: Dury was fleeing. I hurled the gada @ him, and it hit him on his back, & he fell. That's not against the rules, is it?
B: No. Although if he's fleeing, shouldn't he be allowed to flee?
V: No, he has to surrender
B: I didn't teach him to surrender
V: Did you teach him to flee? 😆 See, Guru Dau, he's brought this lanchan on your name. By knocking him down w/ my gada, I wiped that lanchan
B: I guess so. But after that, you definitely landed your mace on his thigh. Can you deny that?
V: No. But the battle was over when he fell. I counted to 10. He was out. After that, my beating his thigh w/ the mace was not part of the fight. It was his post fight DanD for slapping his thighs to Panchali. That's what I did
B: How can you claim it's not a part of the battle?
V: B'cos he was down. His mace was not in his hands. So I beat his already hurt thigh - the thigh which I had brought down w/ my fists
B: It would seem to me your fists are a gada. In which case, you broke the rules
V: No, my fists are not a gada. See, I can eat a laddoo w/ my fists.
Asks Draupadi for a laddoo, which she hands him. Bhima opens his hands, takes the laddoo, clenches his fists, and puts the laddoo in his mouth. He then looks triumphantly @ Dau
V: Now, Dau, let's see you do that trick w/ a gada. If you can't, you'll have to concede that the fist is not a gada.
B: I see your point. You won fair & square.
V: Thank you, Dau!!!
