Her name was Prithaa. Hence her son (Arjun) got the name "Partha"

The strange thing was Kunti and Bhima calling Arjun 'Parth'. That sounded unusual.

Can Duryodhan who's not a king announce Karna to be the king? I found that weird. 😆

Same here, actually. But Anga was really a province given to him by maybe Dritarashtra, and he gifted it to Karna to get his support against the Pandavas

1. Vrishaketu
2. Vrishasena
3. Satyasena
4. Sushena
5. Banasena
6. Prasena
7. Chitrasena
8. Shatrunjaya
9. Dvipata
😊

Yes, his sons took part in the war..his 8 sons (except Vrishaketu) were treacherously killed by the Pandavas..only Vrishaketu had survived the war..he didn't take an active participation in the war..Anga was not a part of Hastinapur..Hastinapur is now known as Delhi & Anga is now a part of Bihar's districts, Bhagalpur & Munger..

Correction - Hastinapur is now in Meerut district in UP, and there is a village by that very name. Indraprastha is part of East Delhi - trans Yamuna.

Thanks for giving the list of Karna's children. How were all 8 killed trecherously? I know about the deaths of 4.

Vrishasena - on day 17, he was battling Nakul while Bhima was shredding Dushashan & drinking his blood. He was getting the better of Nakul. Then Arjun arrived and reminded Karna that while he had killed Arjun's son in his absence, Arjun would instead kill Karna's son right in front of him. W/ an arrow, he cut off Vrishasena's right hand, and then his head, and that started that final Arjun-Karna battle.

Chitrasena - on day 18, he was battling Nakul, and destroyed his bow & chariot. Nakul drew his sword, jumped on Chitrasena's chariot & cut off his head.

Following that, Nakul killed Sushena & Satyasena in a simple bow-arrow combat, or hurled javelins @ them, killing them.

How were the others - Banasena, Prasena, Shatrunjaya & Dvipatra - slain? And by whom?

From the above, I think only Vrishasena was slain unfairly. But Chitrasena died b'cos he failed to imagine that Nakul will jump on his chariot w/ his sword. There is nothing to suggest that any foul play happened for Sushena or Satyasena.

Some 110 yrs back the whole area near purana qila in Delhi near Pragati Maidan was Pandav's Indraprastha city and Purana Qila itself is Indraprastha Mahal

I was guiding tour groups and read a lot about the seven cities of Delhi. Then I came to know that british had the whole village of Indraprastha gaon uprooted so they could build India Gate.

I have a doubt was Ashwathama actually made king of half of panchal?
Becuase as far as i remember what i had read after pandavas captured Drupad for Drona.Drona gives Drupad half of panchal back saying that now that they both have kingdoms they are equals and hence can be friends. But there is no mention of this afterwards in the book if Ashwathama actually is coronated as a king or no?So what was the case?If it wasnt Ahwathama who ruled half of panchal that Drona kept.
Alo i have read Jaya by Devdutt Patnaik in that he has reffered to Ashwathama as ruler of Northen half on panchal. But i have never read about him actually being coronated as king. What am i missing here?

No, Ashwatthama was never made ruler of Panchal. Drona kept that, but like Karna, I've never read anything about his actually ruling that kingdom. If he does, how is he always @ the Hastinapur court?
