"Biwi! I am home" Rk aka Rishab Kundra shouted a call for his wife Madhubala Rishab Kundra.
"Hey!" Madhu came running to her husband & threw arms around his neck & kissed him passionately.
"I was drained after a long day's work but now I feel rejuvenated." Rk smirked & kissed her again. "All thanks to my beautiful wife." He smiled making her blush. Then he tipped her chin up & planted a soft kiss on her rose petal like lips then he made his way down her throat, to the sides of her neck, he pulled her shirt collar off her shoulder revealing her caramel color skin & he kissed her shoulder blades making her moan in pleasure. She clutched his hair in a bunch & pulled his face up to meet her lips.
"That was..." Madhu breathed hard breaking their kiss.
"Amazing" Rk finished the sentence for her.
"What's the smell?" Rk sniffed smelling something burning.
"Oh shit!" Madhu said & rushed to the kitchen to switch off the stove.
"Madhu! How many times I have told you not to leave the stove on & walk out of the kitchen? Even today morning you burned my toast." Rk complained.
"I blame you, Mr. Kundra."
"Me? What have I done, Mrs. Kundra?"
"Morning when I came to our room to wake you up what you did?" She asked faking anger.
"What I did?" Rk asked rubbing his chin as if thinking.
"Don't act! You know very well what you did!"
"Oh shut up! I didn't do anything on my own. You have equal share so say "We did IT!"..." RK smirked.
"Okay! We did it morning, morning & that resulted in burning your toast & now you kissed me for...um... Four minutes & it resulted in burning your favorite gobi curry."
"Madhu, it's not safe to leave the stove on in high flame when you are not around. How do I know you were in kitchen? At least you should have stopped me saying that food was cooking in stove." He tried to reason her.
"Please be careful, Darling. I care for your safety." Rk said & pecked her lips.
"Okay. I will be careful." Madhu smiled at him & hugged him.
"Shall we order pizza?" She suggested as she was not in the mood to cook again.
"Okay, love" Rk kissed her forehead. "You order. I will go freshen up & come."
After eating pizza they had decided to have a movie night. They snuggled on the couch with a blanket wrapped over them as they watched a horror movie much to Madhu's chagrin. She wanted to watch something romantic but her husband said "why don't we do something romantic instead of watching?"
"Nope! I wanna watch movie. No hanky panky." She strictly ordered him.
"Then it's horror movie." Rk declared smirking arrogantly.
"Okay, fine!" She grunted & moved away from him but Rk knew as soon as the movie starts she will slowly move her ass closer to him & bury her head in his chest & take a peek at the movie once the scary scenes were over.
"Ahhh..." Madhu screamed louder when Rk screamed near her ear to scare her. Then he started laughing his ass off seeing his wife's horror stricken face.
"This is not funny, Rk. You scared the living day light out of me, you moron." She cried slapping his chest.
"Aww... I am sorry, baby. Please forgive me." Rk hugged her & wiped her tears with his thumbs & kissed her eyes.
"Don't do that ever again to me, please. You know how scared I am off dark and ghosts." She said hiccuping.
"I know I know... But don't worry. I am with you. It's just a movie."
"Take me to bed..."
"And make love to me." He finished hoping that was her sentence.
"You are sleeping on the couch for scaring me." Madhu ordered.
"What! No! biwi, please. I am scared of sleeping alone. What if I get nightmare & wake up screaming?" Rk acted as if panicking.
"Stop your drama! You. Are. Sleeping. On. The. Couch." She emphasized her words. "And that's final." She said & marched to her room. Rk followed her.
"What?" Madhu shouted seeing him walking towards the bed.
"My pillow & blanket!" Rk grumbled.
"You know you look cute." Madhu smiled.
"What's the use in looking cute when you know your wife will still kick you out of the bed and him to sleep on the hard couch."
"Aww... My baby. I forgive you. Come here. I will give you a kissy." Madhu stretched her arms & a second later he was wrapped in her arms & he embraced her tightly & started kissing her shoulder blades as he pushed her on to the bed.
"I love you, biwi" Rk whispered covering their naked body with a duvet.
"I love you, pati" Madhu whispered back snuggling closer to his rubbing her soft lumps over his chest.
"If you keep rubbing me like that then you won't get any sleep." Rk warned her.
"I guess I don't want to sleep." Madhu murmured near his ear & nibbled his earlobe sending shivers to him.
"You asked for it!" He rolled her off his body & towered her with his body as he spread her legs wide & knelt in between her legs. "You ready?" He asked.
"As ever I will be." She said huskily & pulled his head towards her & took his lips in her kissing the hell out of him as he entered her silky heaven.

"Hey, where are you going?" Rk asked as he watched the TV. It was a Saturday & Rk was at home relaxing.
"I'm heading to the supermarket to get some groceries."
"Oh! Can you get me ice creams & ice lollies?" Rk asked her sweetly.
"You are not a baby!" Madhu teased him.
"Please, Biwi!" He gave her his puppy dog eyes making Madhu burst out laughing.
"You will catch cold, Rishu" Madhu said pulling his cheek lovingly as she sat on his lap.
"You sound like my mother." Rk pouted.
"Okay, I will get you lots of ice creams & ice lollies" Madhu said pinching his cheeks once again.
"Hmm..." he pulled away his face & rubbing his cheeks massaging it. She really pinched his cheeks hard. "Take my car." He said & took his car key from the coffee table & passed it to her.
"Drive safe." He kissed her cheek & closed the door once she was out of it.
~~0~~
"Hey! You are back." Rk walked out of the kitchen hearing the front door opening sound. "Madhu, where are the grocery bags? You kept them in the car?" Rk asked confused seeing her walking empty handed.
"What groceries?" She mumbled softly. "Oh shit! I left the grocery bags in the supermarket itself."
"What? How could you..."
"Sorry, I got a call when I was waiting in the billing queue. I came out to attend it & I complete forgot about the groceries & came home."
"Madhu? What call? Are you okay?" Rk asked in concern.
"Yeah, I am okay. It's actually Mother Stella called me."
"Oh! How is she? How are the kids in the orphan?" Rk asked. Rk & Madhu were orphans & they were raised by Mother Stella in her orphanage. They were friends in their childhood & soon it turned to love. They fell in love with each other madly. Once they completed their studies & got job, they moved out of the orphanage & a year back they got married.
"They need some funds to provide for the kids..." Madhu loved Mother Stella & the kids in the orphanage. They were like a family to them. That was the place where she found her true love so she wanted to do something for them.
"Oh! Don't worry darling. We will fund them." Rk reassured her. Rk being a bright student got scholarship and did his Masters in Business Administration in a very prestigious college & now he ran his own company which was a very profitable business.
"Now, come, we will go get the grocery bags back & my ice lollies too." Rk said & dragged Madhu's hand.

Madhu woke up with severe headache & a smarting pain at the pit of her stomach. "Rishu..." She groaned as she patted the side of her bed to find it empty. She sat up on the bed holding her head massing it gently.
She turned to her bedside table to pour herself a glass of water as her mouth was parched. That's when she noticed a small note stuck on the table.
"Good morning, beautiful. I have a breakfast meeting so going office little early. See you in the evening. Love u. yours, Rk"
"I love you too" Madhu kissed the small bit of paper & searched for her phone to make a call to her husband. She searched the whole house for her phone but she couldn't remember where she placed it. Rk was one organized man unlike her. He places his phone, wallet, watch everything at the night stand but she discard her stuffs unceremoniously & later hunt for her things.
Finally giving up she decided to ring her mobile number from her landline phone. She took the phone receiver & wondered for her phone number. She had trouble keeping numbers in her mind.
Before she could search for her number in the phone diary, she heard her phone ringing. She traced the sound & found her phone in the closet.
"Hello, Madhu, why you took so long to pick my call? I have been trying for your number for the past one hour but no answer."
"Sorry, I was sleeping & then I couldn't find my phone when I was about to call you..."
"It's 11 in the morning." He stated. He didn't complain for her getting late but he wanted to make sure she was okay.
"You alright, biwi?" Rk asked, his concern was evidence in his voice.
"Just having pretty bad headache nothing to worry, okay!"
"You sure? You want me to come and take you to a doctor?"
"No, dear. I am perfectly fine. You just tell how your meeting went?"
"Yeah, it went great. We got the contract."
"Cool! You had breakfast?"
"Yeah, in the meeting itself I had a sandwich." He replied. "I guess you still haven't eaten a single morsel of food so go & have your breakfast, we will talk later."
"Okay, bye."
"Madhu... wait!"
"Yeah, tell me. I am on the line only."
"Ring me if you aren't feeling well. I will come home." Rk ordered her.
"Yes, boss" Madhu giggled & hung up the call.
Madhu walked to the kitchen to prepare something for her to eat but she found aloo parathas already made by her dearest husband & kept in the hot box. "I love you, Rk" she said kissing the ghee parathas. Suddenly she felt a wave of nausea hit her when the strong smell of ghee entered her nostril. She quickly put down the paratha back on her plate & rushed to the bathroom & puked her gut out in the toilet.
Later at lunch again she puked the little food she managed to eat.
"I should see a doctor." Madhu decided & contemplated whether to let Rk know about her sickness or not. "No! He will worry to sick so I am not going to tell him anything yet. I am sure it's just some indigestion"

"Omg! I am pregnant. I am having a baby. My Rishu's baby." Madhu squealed in excitement as she sat back in her car clutching her reports. She took a minute to calm her nerves before starting the car & driving off to her apartment.
"Hello, Rishu." She called her husband's number as she stood in the elevator.
"Yeah, Madhu, tell me."
"Come home soon." She said & cut the call. She stood in front of the apartment grinning like a loon as she couldn't hide her happiness. This was what she wanted. She was waiting for. Wait for a little Rishu! "What if Rishu wants a little Madhu?" Madhu wondered. "Whatever sex be the baby, we are gonna love our baby." Madhu caressed her belly lovingly. That was when the apartment door opened & an elderly lady walked out. She smiled politely at Madhu. "Sorry, I was thinking so stood in front of your apartment" Madhu muttered & turned to the opposite side & walked to her apartment. Then she headed to her bedroom & kept the reports in her book shelves.
"I am gonna surprise him tonight by giving him the good news." Madhu did a quick swirl & slumped back on her comfy bed.

"Madhu... Madhu..." Rk walked into his house shouting for his wife. When he heard no reply from her he went in searching for her. She was not in the kitchen & thankfully the stove was off. Even today morning she put the milk pot on the stove to make tea for them & left to read newspaper forgetting to check the milk & it boiled too much & spill out of the pot. Rk wanted to shout at her for being so irresponsible but he didn't as it was a special day for them so he didn't want to sour her mood.
"Madhu..." Rk walked to their bedroom & finally found her curled up on the bed sleeping. He actually should have got mad at her for not getting ready but he couldn't as she was sleeping so peacefully. just like an angel
"Madhu, darling..." Rk brushed her hair off her face & kissed her cheek.
"Wake up, honey. We are getting late." Rk cooed near her ears.
"Hmm..." she moaned hiding her face in his chest.
"Why you are sleeping now?" Rk asked. It was strange for her to sleep in the evening. She never had the habit of taking nap at noon.
"I don't know why but I always feel sleepy & hungry nowadays."
"If you keep sleeping & eating you will put too much weight & will look so gross." Rk teased her.
"Still you will love me!" Madhu smirked confidently.
"Of course!" Rk smiled & kissed her lips and then he swatted her ass making her jump.
"Now that you are up, go get ready. We are going out."
"Where?" Madhu asked confused.
"You forgot?" Rk asked wide eyed. "It's our first wedding anniversary, Madhu"
"That I remember. Where are you taking me?" she clarified.
"Oh. Didn't I tell you I will be taking you out for dinner this morning?" Rk asked wondering whether he forgot to mention her about his plan for tonight.
"Just dinner out? That we do every weekend so what's special about it?"
"Special?" Rk asked brainstorming to get some idea.
"Our first wedding anniversary. I want you to make it special & memorable for me." she said stubbornly.
"You tell me what you want?"
"Nope! you surprise me!" she said & stomped off to the dressing room to get dressed.
"Biwi, wear this. I bought this purple gown for you & this diamond necklace to go with this beautiful dress" he followed her to the dressing room & gave her the dress bag & jewel box.
"You like the dress and necklace?"
"Rk, these are so beautiful. Thank you. I love you." she jumped into his arms & kissed him hard. Then he left her to get dressed and taking his towel he went to the bathroom to take his shower.
By the time Rk got ready in his black tuxedo, Madhu did her hair & make-up.
"May I?" Rk asked wanting to help her slip in her gown.
"No, thanks! You will never dress me up but only peel me off of my dress."
"That I am gonna do anyways but not now. Once we return home!" Rk said with a wink then helped Madhu to put her dress on.
"Shall we?" Rk held his arm out for her to take. Madhu smiled & wrapped her hands around his arm & they walked out.

"OMG! Rk!" Madhu covered her mouth with her palm in surprise. He had brought her to the lake few miles away from their orphanage. That was the place where they found their love. That was the place where Rk proposed Madhu. That was the place where they got married.
"Like the surprise?" Rk asked wagging his brows.
"I love you so much." Madhu threw herself at him & sealed his mouth with her mouth. "This place is absolutely stunning." Madhu said in awe. She looked the place as if she was looking at it for the first time.
"Come. We will eat. I am starving." Rk took her hand & walked her to the makeshift canopy where the table was set. Rk and Madhu helped each other in serving & ate their dinner talking & laughing. He walked Madhu to the wooden dock & they sat at the edge of the dock, their legs touching the cold lake water.
"Do you remember the day, Madhu? Like now we were sitting on the edge of the dock, I was holding your hand & we were looking at the twilight & suddenly I turned my gaze at you & you gazed me back, then we shared our first kiss..."
"Kiss me, please" she whispered.
"That's exactly what you said then when I pulled away after giving you a soft brief kiss."
"Why don't you propose me again, Rk?" Madhu asked cheekily but her eyes were serious. She wanted to hear him say those words... those life affirming promises to her.
"Now?"
"Yes, say me those lovely words again. Please"
"Um... Well, Missing you is my hobby, caring for you is my job, making you happy is my duty and loving you is my life! You are my friend, my other half, my universe, my, my..."
"What?" Madhu asked creasing her brow.
"I actually took those love quotes from Google so I don't remember them. Sorry!" Rk grinned sheepishly.
"You cheater cock! I thought it was your own lines. I hate you!" Madhu hit him though playfully.
"Sorry, but I meant every single word I stole and said to you." Rk said grinning. Madhu pouted cutely.
"Well, If you remember what all I said to you then you tell me. I will hear my own proposal from you."
"Um... I don't remember... I'm sorry." Madhu said biting her lips. "All I remember is your soul scorching kiss." Madhu blushed. Rk lift her off & placed her on his lap & kissed her mating with her tongue.
"Rishu, take me home. The night is still young so we will put use of it." Madhu whispered against his lips.
~~0~~
"Madhu! Madhu!" Rk yelled at her as he searched for his file.
"Why are you yelling?"
"Did you saw my blue color file?"
"Did you check in your file cabinet?"
"Yeah..." Rk started searching on the book shelves & pulled out a file.
City Hospital? Madhu's medical report?
Rk read it & looked up at Madhu questioningly. She stared back at him equally confused.
"Positive? You are pregnant?" Rk asked as he flipped the pages of the file. "You didn't tell me, dammit? Why?"
"Rishu... I..." she didn't know what to say. She just looked down at her stomach caressing it.
"Speak up? Were you ever going to tell me or get rid of my baby?..." before he could say another word she slapped him hard on his cheek. He knew he deserved it. His Madhu will never do that.
"Why you didn't tell me, Madhu?" he asked softly moving to her, taking her in his arms.
"Three days back you came to know about this news, if you wanna tell me as a surprise then you could have told me last night in our anniversary celebration right?"
"I'm sorry, Rishu... I... I..."
"What?"
"I forgot!" she said ashamed.
"You forgot?" of all the reasons she came up with this excuse? Rk slumped on the bed staring at her in disbelief.
"I'm sorry!" She cried covering her face with her palms.
"Hey!" Rk gently tugged her hand making her sit on his lap. "It's okay. I am sorry. I shouldn't have shout at you." he apologized to her brushing her hair but she refused to stop crying and soon she went to sleep in his arms.
When Madhu woke up an hour later she found her husband lying beside her on his side resting his head on his palm balancing his weight on his elbow looking at her lovingly, caressing her exposed belly. Madhu placed her hand over his hand. "I can't believe our baby is growing inside you." Rk said in wonder. Madhu smiled a heart melting smile at him.
"I saw the first scan reports." He said softly. He was hurt that she didn't tell him when she got the doubt and went to check up. He wanted to be with her holding her hand while they look at their baby's first smile.
"Next time I will come with you." Rk said. She nodded her head gently caressing the stubble of his cheeks. "BTW, when is your next appointment?"
"Two months from now." she said in a meek tone. "Okay"
"I love you, Rishab"
"I love you, Madhu" he said & kissed her lips tenderly.

(Few months later)
Rk helped a very pregnant Madhu to sit on the chair in front of the Doctor's table.
"I'm nervous Rk." Madhu whispered clutching his hand tightly.
"I'm here with you, Madhu."
"What if something is wrong with me?"
"Nothing is wrong with you, darling." Rk smiled reassuring her. Right then a tall middle aged man walked in to the cabin holding a report, scrutinizing it.
"How is she, Doctor?" Rk asked calmly, he is anything but calm.
"Could you please wait outside, Mrs. Kundra while I brief about your issue to your husband?" Dr. Kapoor suggested.
"No! I am not going out. Whatever it is, just tell in front of me, please. I have right to know whats wrong with me?" Madhu demanded. Rk put his arm around her shoulder pulling her closer to him. "Calm down, baby. Calm down." He said & planted a kiss on her temple.
"Well, you are suffering Alzheimer's disease, Mrs. Kundra. It's a chronic neurodegenerative disease which slowly starts and get worse over time. It's a special kind of dementia. (mental illness)"
"What?" Rk shouted in shock. "No, it can't be." Rk shook his head frantically. He felt like his world had just shattered into pieces.
Rk had been noticing weird changes in Madhu initially he thought it was her pregnancy symptoms, her mood swings making her go mad at him but slowly he realized it was something else. She forgets everything easily. She misplaces things & shouts at him. She lost track on date and time. She found difficulty in completing familiar tasks. She was no more herself. She was losing her mind slowly.
When Madhu said she forgot to inform him about the pregnancy news he felt it so strange. He questioned himself how could someone forget something so important but then he brushed the thought in the moment of happiness of becoming a father and there he made a mistake of letting go something so serious.
One day, Rk caught Madhu on time when she was about to eat papaya. The doctor strictly retrained her from eating that fruit & other harmful food items during pregnancy. When Rk reminded about that she went completely blank. She gave him the life time shock by asking who was pregnant. She didn't remember her being pregnant. When she looked down at her little baby bump she freaked out so was Rk. That was when he decided to take her to a neuro-specialist.
"She is so young to get Alzheimer's. She is just 26 yrs old." Rk said.
"Look Mr. Kundra, Alzheimer's is not just a disease of old age. Upto 5% of the people in the world with the disease have early on-set Alzheimer's. As I said earlier it's one rare kind of dementia."
Rk's head started spinning. He felt suffocated. He wanted to breathe some fresh air but he can't walk out leaving Madhu here. He turned to her side to find her looking down at her stomach as her hand caressed it.
"Will this disease affect my baby?" Madhu asked worriedly as tears slid down her cheeks.
"We can't surely tell anything now, Mrs. Kundra. We need to keep a check on your baby when he/she is born"
"Rishu, I want our baby to be healthy. I will die if anything happens to our baby." Madhu started crying hysterically clutching his shirt tightly.
"Madhu, relax. Please don't cry. You will be fine. Our baby will be fine. I promise."
"Doctor, I want you to treat her. If you can't cure her then I will take her to UK, US or wherever I could find remedy for this disease. I can't see my wife suffering. I can't lose her."
"Alzheimer's has no current cure. Treatments cannot stop Alzheimer's from progressing; they can temporarily slow the worsening of dementia symptoms but..." Dr. Kapoor trailed off.
"Rishu, I will wait outside. I can't take this anymore. I will surely stress out & it will affect our baby. I am sorry, Doctor."
"Dr. Kapoor can I see you later this evening? We can discuss more on what to do? I don't mind spending money. All I want is my wife to live a healthy & hearty life."
"I can understand, Mr. Kundra. We will talk more when we meet next time." Dr. Kapoor said with a polite smile.
"And Mrs. Kundra, don't worry. Don't forget to take your medicines. You will be fine."
"That's the problem here, Dr. Kapoor. I keep forgetting things." Madhu said without humor.
"I will take care of her & make sure she takes her medicines, Doctor." Rk said & helping Madhu to stand up from the chair & saying their thanks to the Doctor they went home.
~~0~~
Madhu was lying on the bed staring at the ceiling. She felt her baby move more than ever.
"I guess he wanna pop out off his sick mother." Madhu whispered looking down at her bare stomach. She could see her baby bumping its head on her stomach visibly so with her middle two fingers she gently pressed the baby's head settling him back to his position.
"Shush... don't talk like that. She still has time & she loves staying in this protective cocoon." Rk said gently patting her stomach feeling the baby's kick hard against his palm.
"Will I forget my baby by the time I give birth to him?" she asked. They wanted to keep the baby's gender a surprise & find out at the time of birth so they refused to know the sex when the doctor asked at the second scan which was taken three months back. Rk hoped for a baby girl & Madhu hoped for a baby boy but both wished & prayer for the baby to be healthy.
"No, you won't, Madhu. If you forget also I will keep reminding you about our baby."
"What if I don't remember you?"
"You brain can erase my name from your memory but your heart will beat for me, my love." Rk kissed her lips as his tears fell on her cheeks.
"Why this is happening in our life, Rishab?" Madhu asked again along with him.
"I thought you me and our baby will live happily forever... but now... Rishab, I don't want to die. I don't want to leave you & our child. I want to live long with you two." Madhu said in an aching voice.
"You will live with us forever, love"
"I don't believe in forever, Rishu!" she snapped at him. "When I know tomorrow is uncertain. Tomorrow might come even without me." She cried onto his chest.
"Oh baby! Please don't talk like that. It hurts. I live & breathe for you. Only for you. I love you." Rk's voice trembled. He hugged Madhu tightly resting his head on her chest & she held him back & soothed his back by rubbing it with her hand.
"You should start living and breathing for our baby."
"No, I can't. Life without you will hurt me more than death."
"I don't want our baby to be an orphan like us. I want you to look after him with or without me."
"Please don't talk like that. Please." He begged her as he cried.
"You know... today when you went back to see the doctor I did some research about Alzheimer's. It says that young aged people like me can survive from 4 - 20 years max and people will gradually lose their mind & result in death."
"Let's not talk about death okay?"
"Why you love me so much, Rishu?" Madhu asked caressing his cheek wiping his tears.
"I don't know. All I know is I love you, I love you, I love you. I will spend my life loving you and loving this little one." He moved to her belly & kissed his baby.
~~0~~
Days past in a jiff, Rk was always hovering around her making sure she was fine. He made his loyal employee Bittu Sharma to handle his company. He helped him by working from home as he couldn't leave his wife's side.
Her pregnancy was a huge offset in her treatment. Doctors' couldn't give her strong drugs to slow down the worsening of dementia.
"Rishu, shall we go do baby shopping?" Madhu asked as she walked out of her bedroom & slowly sat beside him on the couch.
"We have already done shopping for our baby, Madhu" Rk reminded her with a smile.
"Oh! When?"
"Last month."
"When is my due date?"
"Next week."
"Oh" she said & went pale.
"Madhu, love..." Rk picked her up & placed her on his lap resting his chin on her shoulder. "You trust me right?" she nodded her head instantly. "Then I promise, nothing will go wrong when I am with you." he made a promise which was actually not his.
"Are we a burden to you, Rishu?" Madhu asked softly as she rubbed her enormous belly.
"Don't be stupid, Madhu."
"I'm stupid only" Madhu said with a chuckle but her eyes conveyed hurt.
"I'm sorry, love..."
"shush... I know you didn't mean it" she shushed him by kissing his lips. "I'm hungry. Let's go eat." She changed the topic. Rk smiled & walked her to the dining hall.
~~0~~
Finally, the D-Day arrived. Madhu was taken in to labor & after hours of screaming & crying she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
"How is my son, Doctor? Is he perfectly alright?" Rk asked still holding Madhu's shaking hand. He looked down at her lying on the bed tiredly. He kissed her forehead & she just looked at him with her drowsy eyes & soon sleep took over her.
"Your son is healthy. His vitals are doing well, Mr. Kundra." The lady doctor reassured him & walked away after passing the baby to Rk's arms.
"My baby" Rk whispered shedding happy tears. "Papa loves you." Rk kissed his son's forehead making him open his eyes which was a replica of Rk's eyes. He could so see himself in his son's eyes. He stared at his father for few seconds before going back to sleep.
(2 hours later)
"Where am I?" Madhu asked panicking as she found herself in the hospital bed.
"Hey" Rk smiled at her & placing his son on the crib, he walked around to her side & sat on the edge of the bed taking hold of her hand.
"Who's baby?" Madhu asked in a whisper pointing to the crib. Rk closed his eyes in pain. It was like his worst fear realized.
"Our son, Madhu." Rk said with a smile hiding the pain in his eyes.
"Oh!" she frowned at him. Then closing her for a moment she caressed her now flat belly. "My baby" she whispered softly & started crying in joy. "Bring him to me, please" she said to her husband. Rk smiled & kissed her forehead before walking to the crib.
"Hey, baby boy, ready to meet your momma?" Rk cooed at his son who was making soft sounds.
"Seems like, he is excited to be in your arms." Rk said & gently placed the baby on Madhu's lap.
"He is so beautiful." Madhu took his little hand & kissed his fingers.
"What's is name?" Madhu asked her husband.
"You name him." Rk said wrapping her shoulder with his arms as he adored his son.
"Um... Rishi kundra?" Madhu asked.
"I like it but why you chose that name?"
"So that I keep remembering both my RKs forever" she said & kissed his cheek.
~~0~~
(Few months later)
"Madhu, I have an urgent meeting so I need to be in office in an hour. Can you handle Rishi?" Rk asked.
"Sure, Rishu. I will take care of him." Madhu assure him with a smile.
"Madhu, please don't go out of our house on your own." Rk warned her. She was having difficulty to remember their house address. Last week she went to the nearby store to get some snacks & she lost her way. When she didn't return in time, Rk went in search of her & found her walking in the opposite direction from their house.
"Madhu, I have kept you meds & set the alarm. I have even written a note asking you to take the tablets. Oh and, Rishi is sleeping in his room. The baby monitor is on. When he cries please check on him & feed him."
"I will, Rishu. Don't worry but come home soon."
"Okay." Rk said & kissed her forehead but before leaving he turned and asked something which hurt both of them. "Who is Rishi for you?" Rk asked to check whether she remember him. He was put in such a state to ask a mother about her own son. He had to ask because she often forgets him. He had to remind her that he was their son every now and then. He was happy that at least he was there in her memory always.
"My son, Rishu" Madhu said with a smile blinking her tears away.
"I'm sorry, love." Rk kissed a beseeching kiss. She smiled.

(3 hours later)
When Rk let himself into his apartment with his spare key, he found the house so silent. He quickly ran to Rishi's bedroom & got panicked when Rishi was missing. Then he rushed to his bedroom to check on Madhu.
Rk sighed in relief seeing Rishi sleeping on his momma's arm, hugging her & Madhu had her index finger in Rishi's mouth as he sucked her finger in his sleep. Rk had tears looking at the beautiful sight in front of him. He was so worried & he couldn't concentrate well at the meeting but somehow the meeting went well with Bittuji's help & soon he rushed to his house to make sure both his sweethearts were fine.
Rk walked closer to the bed & climbed up on it wanting to hold his family protectively in his arms.
Madhu stirred in her sleep. Rk gently brushed her hair off her face and patted her head asking her to go back to sleep but she woke up & smiled at him.
"Had good time with your son?" Rk asked.
"Yeah, we played a lot. I ran him a bath. I fed him. Again we played till we slept off." Madhu excitedly said about her time with her son.
"He is so amazing Rishu, just like you." Madhu whispered kissing Rishi's forehead.
"Rishu, do you remember what the doctor said, yesterday?" Madhu asked. Rk frowned not knowing about what particular thing she was talking about. They met her doctor late evening and he said a lot like how she was making remarkable changes, well positive changes and that brought hopes to them. He said she wasn't stressing her head too much & she was finding her own ways to cope up with her illness & to keep her memory in check. Rk nodded in agreement as he was seeing the changes too. She had stuck photos of Rishu & her son everywhere in their house so that she will always look at them & remember them. She had written down bit notes & stuck them on the walls, refrigerator door, kitchen cabinets, everywhere she had written down things she should remember & do. She was confident to fight Alzheimer's and that was like a ray of light in the dark room. The doctor said Rk's care & concern for his wife was playing a vital part in keeping her better and positive. He said family support was better than any other drugs.
"That slowly I might forget the present & my memory will go back in time & remember my past life only?" She said. Yeah, the doctor even told that she might forget the present life and present people around her & remember the people in her past.
"Yes." Rk nodded.
"You were in my past, you are in my present and you will be in my future then how will I forget you?" Madhu asked with a smile. Rk's eyes flared with sudden happiness. That was the reason why she never forgot him but only their son. He was always with her. They lived & grew up together. He was there in her past.
"Look at our son, Rishu." Madhu whispered & they both looked down at their sleeping son.
"Doesn't he look like your replica? His eyes, his nose, his dimples... he is just like you. I always wanted our baby to share both our looks but now I am glad he is nothing like me but wholly like you so that I can remember this face..." She caressed Rk's face with love shining in her eyes. "... the face I loved all my life and I will love the rest of my life too."
"But once I forget myself I will forget you, our son and everything." Madhu whispered in a sad tone.
"No, Madhu..." Rk pulled her in his arms & hugged her. "We will find a cure for you. You will get well. I promise."
"I have never said thanks to you for what all you did and still doing to me..." Rk shook his head in no. "Don't worry I am not going to thank you, my love" she let out a soft laugh. "I don't want to thank & insult your love. Your love is doing all this for me, for us!" She looked down at her son. Ever since she was conceived with his child he was taking care of them as if they were so delicate. She still remembered the time she had morning sickness & she couldn't even rush to the bathroom to puke her gut out in the toilet but vomit all her way. Rk used to clean her up, clean up the places she spat vomit and even once he held her vomit in his hands. She was so embarrassed and started crying and cursing her life. She wanted to make him happy but all she was a burden to him. Once She even told him openly that she was burden to him, she shouldn't have come in his life, she shouldn't have got pregnant and burden him more with the responsibility of rising up their baby but all he told her was "You both are my blessing! I will do anything and everything to keep you two safe and happy. I will give my life for you two." That moment she decided to live for him and not to care about her problem or fear about death. She will live her life with her two boys she loved the most in the world. She leaned down and kissed her son's forehead whispering "Momma loves you, baby boy."
Then she looked up at her husband who was watching them with a contented smile.
"I just want to tell you that... If I did anything right in my life then it was falling in love with you. I love you..."
"I love you too, Madhu. I love you so much." Rk pulled her for a bone crushing hug.
"I have you... my love... my Rishu to share my pain. You are my humdard." Madhu smiled at him happily & kissed him with all her love.
He was her cure. His love was her medicine. Their baby was her sunshine. Their memories were chiseled in her heart so she will never fail to remember them, her boys.

P.S - Humdard means someone who shared a pain with someone.
