Chapter 3
"I love you Madhu." RK's sudden proposal made her shock, she had no words to say. Rk gently took her hand in him and said, "You know first time when I saw you, I fall in love with you." Somewhere Madhu was happy that someone love her but at the same time, she remembered about her infertility and more important she remembered about her sister - Trishna. She quickly took back her hand, RK looked at her shockingly, "You are such a characterless person." "Madhu??" "What Madhu?" She held his collar tightly, "I thought you would be a good person but no..! Now I feel so ashamed on myself that I spend time with a person like you. Chee..!" She made a disgust face. "Madhu? I don't get what you are saying..!" "Oh really Mr Kundra? When you get caught, you are behaving innocent. You really don't know what I am saying.. One side you promised my uncle that you will marry my sister and other side you are proposing me..?" RK looked at her confuse, "Your sister? I really don't know what you are saying..! Last day Mr Balraj came to visit me and asked h your hand for me." Madhu laughed and clapped saying, "Wow..! You know what.. Trishna was right.. You are a very good actor that you act well onscreen and as well as offscreen.. What a story..! Balraj uncle asked my hand for you? You might be dreaming.. I am unlucky to get love from someone. Love doesn't exist in my life." She said thoughtfully and tears rolled down from her eyes, "Madhu.. I know you..!" But before RK could say anything she glared at him saying, "I hate you. I hate you Mr Rishab Kundra. And keep it in your mind if you ever dare to heart my sister, I will be the worse for you." She angrily said and going to leave when RK held her hand, "Madhu listen..!" Madhu struggled to free her hand from his grip, "Leave me..!" "No. You have to listen to me.. You misunderstood me.. Last day when Mr Balraj asked his daughter's hand for me, I thought it was you.." Madhu shut her eyes tightly feeling how much he could lie, she angrily jerked his hand and in that manner she unintentionally slapped him. Everyone stared at them, RK too was shock on her action, as well as Madhu. "Rishab jee I.." She tried to explain but RK angrily looked around and then stopped Madhu from saying anything, he angrily left from there.
RK came back to his cottage, he was angrily throwing things everywhere. "What she think about herself..? I love her that doesn't mean I haven't self respect." RK looked at the mirror, he remembered the time which he spent with Madhu, he angrily throw the vase on the mirror. Hearing chaos Bittuji ran inside the room, "Chief you okay..?" "Bittuji.. Cancel the shoot, I am going back to Mumbai." RK said as he started packing. "But chief..!" RK glared at him, "Do what I told..!" Bittuji looked at him confuse, as he never seen his chief in such anger, he nodded helplessly. RK packed his stuffs and walked out from the cottage where he saw Madhu was standing, he didn't pay any attention to her and started walking to his car when he saw a halted near to the main gate, "Mom.. Dad..!" RK uttered as he saw his parents get down from the car, Once RK looked back at Madhu who was still standing there and he avoid her. "Mom.. Dad..!" He approached to them and hugged them. "Rishu you didn't tell us, you had choose your bride here." Mohan said when RK stayed quiet as he didn't know what to reply. "How's our DIL looks..?" Meera asked excitedly. "Mom.. Actually I.." He paused for a while as he was in trauma that whether he should inform them the truth or not when Meera asked in a low voice, "Who is that girl standing there?" RK looked back at Madhu and his blood boiled as he remembered the slap. "Not important..!" He instantly replied. "Let it be..! You were saying something..? Is everything alright Rishu..? You are happy with the marriage no..?" Mohan asked worried. RK looked at Madhu and replied, "Yes dad.. I am happy..! I will marry Trishna." Mohan hugged him excitedly when RK wiped his tears which were about to roll down, other side hearing RK's answer Madhu left from there silently.
Madhu was sitting in her room when Trishna excitedly walked in, "Didu..! How was your day with my superstar..?" Madhu blankly looked at her as the moments appeared in her mind. "Didu..!" Trishna shook her to get attention. "Ugh.. Hmm..!" Madhu came out from her thoughts. "Where are you lost..?" "No. Nothing. You tell me she were you since morning..?" Madhu asked. "I had some work..! Okay.. I will see you later. I need to talk with papa." She gave her a quick hug and left the room.
"Papa..!" Trishna knocked on the door, "Oh..! Trish.. Come..! I was waiting for you." Trishna looked at him confuse, she walked in and took shot beside him. "Trish.. Beta.. I have something to say..!" Trishna nodded. "I fixed your marriage." "Marriage..?" Trishna looked at him shock. "Yes. Don't you want to know who is your groom..?" Trishna looked at him blankly as she had no idea as her father would say something like this. "Rishab Kundra.." "Rishab Kundra..? You mean superstar RK.!" Balraj shook his head excitedly, "Why? Don't you like him?" "No.. Nothing like that..! I trust you, I know whatever you will do for me.. Will be best..!" Balraj smiled fondly, "Then be ready by evening. Rishab and his family members are coming here to fix the marriage date." Trishna smiled and walked out from the room.
"So..? After two days we shall fix the date..?" Mohan asked. "Yes. Your wish..!" Mohan, Balraj had a talk about marriage whereas Meera asked RK to talk with Trishna, so they went to the garden but meanwhile RK and Madhu steal glances without each other's notice. "Didu.. You too come..!" Trishna forced Madhu to join them but she avoided. Soon Kundra's were getting ready to leave when for a moment RK and Madhu faced off. "What are you doing..?" She asked straight. "Excuse me..?" "Why did you accept to marry her..? You don't love her." "It's none of your business Madhubala. Who the hell are you interfering in our life..?" RK arrogantly asked. "Trishna is my sister and I have rights to interfere and here I know you don't.." "I know what I am doing..! I don't need any of your advice. So stay away.. Look at Trishna.. She isn't like you.. She respect me, she understands me.. I know I will be happy with her and I can keep her happy too. So now I don't need any third person to interfere..! Get that..?" He sarcastically asked and took leave from there, unknowingly tears rolled down from her eyes.
After 2 days
There was huge hustle bustle inside Madhu's place, the ladies were busy in applying haldi on Trishna, other members were busy in their respective works whereas Madhu was standing away from them as Balraj didn't like it, Trishna saw her and said, "Didu..! Come.." "No. It's okay." Madhu denied but Trishna wasn't in any mood to listen, she dragged her there and asked Madhu to apply haldi, Madhu smiled and apply haldi on her, Trishna too applied little on her to tease her. They had fun together to the entire day. It was evening when Trishna was getting ready in her bridal dress, Madhu praised her, "You are looking beautiful." Soon she took leave from the room and attend the guests, "Madhu..! Is Trishna ready?" Damini asked when Madhu shook her head. "Barat might be arrive anytime." Soon RK and his family arrived, it wasn't a grand wedding so RK asked Bittuji to keep the reporters away.
"Please call the bride..!" The priest said, Padmini looked at Madhu, she walked in. "Trish..!" Madhu called her while open the door but she didn't find her, she checked the washroom as well but there too she didn't find her. "Trishna..!!" Madhu checked others room. As Madhu wasn't showing at the marriage place, Damini and Padmini both excused from there and walked in. "Madhu..?" Madhu looked at them worried. "Where is Trish..?" Damini asked. "Chachi..!! Umm..!" She stammered. "What happened Madhu..?" Padmini asked sternly. "Maa.. Trish isn't in her room." "What?" They both looked at her shock. "I checked every room but I didn't find her anywhere." "Did you check the room? Did you check the washroom?" Damini asked worried and ran inside the room. They again searched for her in the room when Madhu found a note on the table. "Maa.. Chachi..!" She grabbed the note and showed them, they have each other worried look when Madhu read, "Dear papa, I know you might be worried for me. On that day, when you asked me whether I am happy for this marriage or not. I couldn't able to say anything.. Maa, papa.. I love Mukund and I am getting married with him. I know RK is very nice, I like him. I am his fan but I never dream to marry him. I am sorry papa, I am leaving the house like this but I have no choice. Mukund is very simple guy, I know if I would tell you before, you wouldn't accept us so I took this drastic step. If you can please forgive me. Trishna..!" As Madhu ended, Damini sat back on the bed crying. "Damini..!" "Didi.. Trish.. What will I tell them? They are waiting for her. What will I do now." She cried. "Damini.. Don't break down. You have to be strong. We have to inform them." Padmini said. "No. No. Didi.. What will people say..! What will Rishab's family think about us.. Balraj's reputation.. Why Trishna did this..? She could talk with me." She cried vigorously when Madhu and Padmini console her. "Chachi please don't cry. We can't change things. We have to face it." As Madhu said Damini looked at her, "No. Madhu no..! We can change things." "What do you mean?" She looked confuse. "You will sit on Trishna's place." Damini said making both mother daughter shock. "No chachi.. What are you saying? You know I can't.." She paused as tears rolled out from her eyes. "Madhu though doctor said those words but I have faith on God.. He will never do wrong with you. Please Madhu don't say no. You are like my daughter, Rishab is nice person. He will keep you happy. Please beta accept it. If you deny then... Please beta.. Our reputation is in your hand." Madhu looked at her mother as the moments with RK flashed in front of her. "Madhu..! Damini is right. Now only you can save us from this insult." Madhu looked on helplessly. Soon she dressed in the bridal dress which Trishna kept on the bed. "But ma chachi if they deny to marry when they will see me then?" "No one can get to know. Your face will be under veil until the rituals aren't taking place." Saying this Damini covered her face with the veil.
"She was nervous as she is getting married..!" Damini made an excuse once they approach to the mandap, everyone curiously looked at the bride as her face was covered. "It's our ritual. Groom can't see his bride's face until the marriage take place." Everyone looked on convinced. Soon the marriage take place, RK Madhu took phera and RK tied mangalsutra around her neck and put vermilion. Soon the priest declared them as husband - wife. RK and Madhu approached to the elders and took blessings when Meera asked, "Now can I see my daughter-in-law?" Damini and Padmini looked on nervously and exchanged a smile. RK was least interestingly looked on when Meera unveiled her face making everyone shocked, "You??!" That time RK looked at his bride with shock expression.
