Basking under the warmth of the glowing sun, Madhu sits down, her arms resting idly on bended knees, supporting her thin, frail body. She smiles slightly as she gazes affectionately out into the distance. Her eyes crinkle with amusement, her attention riveted on the peals of laughter emanating from the four most important people in her life. Playing with wild abandon, the joy in her children's eyes, in every fiber of their being as daddy chases them is just infectious. One look at their shining, bright faces and she forgets all her pain. Their sweet innocence and the quiet strength of her husband, the once arrogant Superstar RK, had strengthened her resolve to fight the disease that has ravaged her body for the last few months.
Her gaze turns pensive, the last few months have been a trial for their family. The constant trips to the hospital, the failed chemotherapies, her violent reaction to all the vile medicines that were forced down her throat, Madhu had almost lost all hope. It has been 9 months since she had been diagnosed with cancer. She thought it would win over her body and take her permanently away from her family.
But with a stubborn husband like RK, she didn't have much time to dwell on such morbid thoughts. Madhu smiles slightly thinking, the man she had married 10 years ago may had been physically strong but he was emotionally weak. She has always been the emotionally stronger one in their relationship; sacrificing, compromising and willing to do anything to safely see them through the tough times. However, RK has been her anchor throughout the ordeal. She expected him to lose patience, to be insensitive to her needs and show a lack of understanding for her immense emotional turmoil and physical frailty. Madhu smiles wryly, always expect the unexpected from her husband.
As soon as they found out she had cancer, RK canceled all of his projects and focused all of his attention, including financial resources, to get her the best medical care. He spent millions on a state of the art, medical facility and brought together a team of world renowned oncologists to focus just on her recovery. He even turned their home into a mini hospital, with full-time, around the clock nurses. Though he had help from the nurses, he still did everything for her, from feeding her, to giving her a bath.
Her RK is one of a kind. He never does anything in half measures. When he hated her, it was full blown and intense. But his love for her is even more intense; it is the sort to singe the heart and soul and yet also soothe it like a calming balm. He loves not only with his full heart but with every fiber of his being.
She glances up as RK gestures for her to join him and the kids. Madhu smiles and she slowly stands up. Though her body is still frail from all the treatments, she has been regaining her strength back. RK smiles at her lovingly and holds out his hands. Madhu ambles over to his side and he clasps her hand gently but in a strong grip. The kids vie for her attention and they show her the opaque, nearly glass rocks they have collected to make her a necklace. Her eyes brimming with joyful tears, overwhelmed with emotions, Madhu kisses each of her babies gently on their forehead before reminding them that it is time to go home.
Though reluctant to leave the beautiful countryside park, the kids skip along to grab their toys and other belongings that they have scattered around the place. Madhu decides to gather the picnic items and stash away in the basket. She takes a step forward but stops, feeling a gentle tug on her wrist. Madhu stares up at RK's warm, loving eyes and smiles. Staring into his eyes, she thinks, medical science may like to take credit for her being cancer free, but she knows the truth. It is the love of her beloved husband, Rishabh Kundra that has helped her whip cancer's butt. Such is the power of his love.
