I believe that there should be limits to evrything, I mean for a love story to be likeable there should be always redeeming qualities for both, unfortunately though I'm a woman myself but if the woman who is supposed to be a part of a love story keeps giving disgusted looks and hates the hero who saved her manytimes, then how is the love story supposed to start
Also if the hero keeps torturing the heroine without feeling remorse or any soft feeling towards her then the story won't be likeable
I know Rk did a lot of bad things and maybe if he wasn't this much handsome and charming people would have hated him more, but one thing was always consistent, he cared for Madhu senior, even when he was the reason for her pain, he was always attracted and he always admired her though he didn't admit it
So for me I loved Rishbala ; she filled a complaint against him, he destroyed her reputation, she slapped him, he married her, he insulted her mom, she made him apologize, he thought she published the pics of his childhood, he told her dad the truth but even after that he cared for her health and prepared her a mixture to heal her flu, so after Malik she didn't stop, she told him since he wants her to be his wife, she will show him what wife means, she broke his wine bottles and to retaliate he asked her for the massage to intimidate her and after that he insulted her in the party, but he saved her in the studio and there there romance started
So what I love about Rishbala though Rk was always the twisted one who gaves the biggest punishment always, is that first they don't hate each other for no reason there is always a misunderstanding, something that makes them do what they do, secondly that whenever one of them does something the other gives it back of couse Rk as I said uses more powerful means obviously because he usually have the upper hand, but Madhu as much as she can she tries to not keep quite, so for me Madhu Sr isn't a doormat, it was a battle but each one used the weapons they had and of course the superstar had more powerful weapons than the middle class girl but even with her small weapons she tried to stand strong in front of him
As far as the other parts of their story are concerned, I think once Madhu really fell in love with him and was sure he loves her as well, she forgave him other mistakes out of love and not because she was weak, for Madhu love was the most important thing and not ego, so she was actually wise, she knows her happiness is with Rk only and she decided to never let other things destroy that happiness even when it's Rk himself who does something wrong, she used her own ways to make him understand pyaarse!
After unwedding, though he tried to humiliate her, he felt the same pain (so this is a redeeming quality for me) and Madhu tried to be strong so I loved that especially the day she send him that first aid box, but I also loved the fact that Madhu was still loving him and attracted to him so the love story was never in danger
To sum up, I want to say that for me a love story involves both, I want both both to have redeeming qualitues even if they make mistakes this is how I can love them, and no matter what, I should feel that a love story is possible, that these two love each other even when it's against their own will!
I can like a kameena hero, but he should be justified and the heroine shouldn't be just taking all from him without giving it back
