Super Dad Rishabh Kundra! As much as he loved doing what he did on screen, he had come to loathe the outdoor shooting schedule that came along with it. He missed his brood at home too much. Yes with the current technology of Skype, Viber and WhatsApp they were in constant contact and could video chat often. BUT kissing your kids goodnight on Skype wasn't the same as tucking them in and actually kissing them goodnight. Video calls didn't hold a candle to holding his wife in his arms; saying goodnight on a machine wasn't the same. He never missed her moist eyes as they said goodbye even after all these years of marriage and his constant being away from home for shoots. In short, Superstar was the happiest to be home; happy to be just a husband and a father till he had to step back into his other world again.
The moment RK walked through the door; three fifth of his brood tackled him with so much force he stumbled back from being rushed. Arjun, Vibha, and Maya all hung on to him as they yelled, "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!"
"Happy Daddy Daddy Daddy's Day!" Arjun, Vibha and Maya wished him in unison before he had a chance to move an inch.
As he managed the kids off of him, RK asked obviously confused, "What's Daddy Daddy Daddy's Day?"
"Today is Father's Day. Since you are all 3 of ours Daddy; one father isn't fair so Daddy Daddy Daddy's Day; one for Arjun Bhaiya, one for Vibha Didu and one for me," explained his wise 4 year old Maya.
As the importance of the title change dawned on the oh-so-silly Daddy, the kids had already moved past that moment.
"Come on Dad. We have so many surprises planned for you today. After that you need to play football with me so I can practice the new trick I learned from the coach," the 11 year old Arjun informed his father as he kicked his football between his feet.
"Alright kiddos! Let Daddy get freshened up then you can surprise me all day long," RK appeased his children.
Just like every child in the world when they have a mission, they only hear what they want to and the Kundra kids were no exception to this universal rule. As Arjun walked off with RK's carry on and Vibha grabbed his laptop bag with one hand and pulled him with the other towards the stairs. Maya of course refused to be left out of helping move their plan along; she looked at her father with puppy dog eyes; what would she take of his upstairs? As nothing was left, tears pulled in her eyes. RK never could see tears in any of his lovely ladies promptly handed his phone to Maya; she skipped upstairs merrily with Daddy's possession. Again Vibha began pulling RK towards the stairs.
"I'm coming Vibhu," RK told his 8 year old as he was pulled up the stairs toward his room.
As the man of the day walked into his oasis; he saw nothing out of place. The kids had deposited his luggage neatly by the wardrobe. In the sitting room, he noticed a chair surrounded by 3 stools of different height surrounding it. Vibha promptly deposited him in the chair.
The kids lined up in front of him, "Daddy! All three of us have thought very hard about how to make today special," began Arjun.
"We always pamper Mamma because she works so hard," continued Vibha.
"So we will do the same for you, Daddy," concluded Maya.
If there was a chance RK could love his kids anymore then it was in this moment; his heart expanded with love for them.
"I will give you a shave and Vibhu and Maya will give you a head massage or a champi like Mamma does," announced Arjun.
As soon as Arjun had announced the first agenda, his Biwi walked in with all the necessary items to begin his pampering. Arjun took his position in front of RK while his girls took theirs behind him. Arjun lathered up his face with shaving cream and lifted the razor to begin shaving. RK nervously swallowed, scared this could end badly if he gets nicked and the kids see blood; he glanced towards Madhu hopefully. She silently assured him there was no blade in the razor. The girls used warm oil and their soft hands to massage RK's scalp. To an outsider, Arjun, Vibha and Maya's acts would look like torture but RK was in heaven. He knew the shave wasn't a shave and the massage was just oil being poured on his head and in turn his face but it was his children's love that he felt nothing else.
After 30 minutes of being pampered better than any of the best spas in the world; the kids were done and stood in front of RK like before.
"Daddy, we are done. You go shower then come down," Maya ordered.
"Daddy! Mom will stay here to make sure you don't sneak down early to ruin the surprise," a second order was issued by Arjun.
"Dadi is going to help us. No cheating Daddy. Mom, make sure!" Vibha decreed before the trio walked out of the room.
Madhu who had been a silent spectator throughout walked up to RK as the two watched their children walk out of the room.
"I made them," RK said pride evident in his voice as his face broke into a huge smile.
"You had some help," Madhu replied as she slowly wiped the left over shaving cream and oil from his face.
She cupped his face, kissed him soundly, "Welcome home, Super Dad! We missed you. I missed you."
RK pecked her lips again, "Missed you too, Biwi!"
"Now go get cleaned up before they come barging back in again," Madhu said as she pushed him towards the bathroom.
Superstar RK may have the world at his finger tips but Super Dad RK had "Daddy Daddy Daddy's Day and nothing in the world can beat the love of his children on Father's Day and everyday.
