Nautanki Films' Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon was all set for a closure on 12 July, to make way for Shakuntalam Telefilms' Shastri Sisters on Colors.

However, the decision of ending Madhubala has been revoked, with the show bagging a small extension.

News coming in is that the channel has now decided to slot Shastri Sisters at the 7 PM slot. Hence Madhubala has been retained for the moment, as the next fiction launch on Colors is not yet ready.

A source states, "The promo of Shastri Sisters taking the 7 PM slot has been on air since the last few days. Guruodev Bhalla and Dhawal Gada's show Udaan Sapnon Ki might be the next launch on Colors, post Shastri Sisters. However, the show is not yet ready. And this explains the extension of Madhubala. The popular Vivian Dsena - Drashti Dhami soap will now be stretched till August second week."

For the uninitiated, Madhubala has not been raking numbers ever since the generation leap happened. Even the return of Vivian to the show did not help the ratings.
