Back with chapter 4...enjoy
NOTE: it seems like some got confused if RK and Madhu already know each. The answer is no. They know each other because they noticed each other. Their is no personal relationship between the two. Like how we know who various film stars are married to and who they are dating through the media. They know each other by name, not personally.
Hope that cleared things up...now onto the next chapter
Chapter 4
(Madhu's POV)
"Madhubala, what took you so long?" Yash asked.
"I'm sorry." I said sarcastically. "Your 'friend' wouldn't let me leave!"
"Well then..." He said. "You can go home now."
"No Yash, I didn't mean that. Don't fire me!"
"You overreact too much. Everyone is leaving. I think you don't know it's 6 pm already. Office is closing."
"I'm sorry..." I hesitated to speak. "Goodnight Yash."
"Good night."
(At Madhu's house)
"Madhu! Madhu! How was the first day at work?" Trishna asked.
"Crazy."
"Did your new boss like you. Is he cute? Rich?" She threw questions at me like a machine gun. Finally Malik interrupted.
"Trishna beta, let Madhu rest. She looks tired."
"Thank you Malik." He kissed me on the forehead.
I took a warm shower and then curled up in bed. Too much drama today. I took the picture of me and mummy off of my night stand.
"Mummy, why is it when I need you the most...you are not there for me?" Tears welled up in my eyes.
No one here knows me as Madhubala Malik...they only know me as Armaan Sinha's ex-girlfriend. Did I not have an identity? Tears fell down my face in greater numbers. And that RK...what a cheap guy.
I didn't want to see him ever again...
(RK's POV)
"Chief, where did you get the new watch from?"
"From the black market."
"Excuse me, chief?!"
"Bittuji, I got it as a gift. Yash sent it."
"Oh that's nice." I gave him a look.
"Bittuji, are you going to stand here like a statue or are you getting my new script?"
"Oh, I'll go get it chief." He hurried out of the room.
That Madhubala Malik...she hates Armaan as much as I do. Maybe she wants revenge from him too. Why wouldn't she? He betrayed her. It was all over the news. I thought for a moment. An idea came floating by. I grabbed my phone and called Yash.
"What is it, Rishabh?"
"Listen. I need a favor. Tell Madhubala that I want to meet her tomorrow."
"Why?"
"I can't tell you that." I heard him sigh.
"Fine. But she won't agree. She doesn't like you."
"Doesn't matter. I'm not crazy for her either. It's a matter that would benefit both of us."
"Okay. Done deal. Where do I send her?"
"Send her to Sitara Studio."
"Okay, bye."
By then Bittuji came by with the new script. I went through it and told him to find out the shooting dates.
"Ok chief." He took the script and left.
(Madhu's POV)
I woke up in the middle of the night. I looked at my alarm. 2 in the morning. I got out of bed and went to get a drink. I found Malik sitting on his rocking chair, reading a book.
"Malik, you haven't gone to bed yet?"
"No. I'm not sleepy." He said. "My princess couldn't sleep either?" I nodded. I sat down on the floor next to the chair and laid my head on Malik's lap.
"Malik, will I ever be happy again?"
"Why are you asking that Madhu beta?" He looked concerned.
"Wherever I go...people only recognize me as Armaan's ex-girlfriend. Their mocking stares hurt me so much."
"Listen beta, after darkness always comes light. You will be happy. No one can take your happiness away from you." He gently stroked my hair.
"Now go to bed, beta. Maybe tomorrow will be a good day."
"Goodnight, Malik."
"Goodnight, Madhu." He gave me a hug.
