Whether this week's TRP goes up or down should be unlikely to affect such a decision.
Whatever they decide, it won't be affected by ratings when the entire channel is in abysmal viewership amounts.

No series can show a track that is not the channel's own idea or permitted - as potentially viewership-getting - by the channel.
And yet the channel's total viewership has sunk every month, until it's now a flagship channel in competition with Star's subsidiary channel LifeOK.

Bizarrely, the channel may even actually straightfacedly claim they expected notably different TRP - rather than a little up, a little down, in the channel's general league - despite
their giving a MEIEJ promo on the 20th and/or 21st of every month,
an intended promo aired as precap at consecutive episodes-end,
and the MEIEJ female lead and male lead being showcased on the channel's official online fb and twitter only to promote the channel's other serials.

And most concerning, a lead-couple marital-rape track going into a court-case despite excellent viewership always coming for this sort of track in many versions if the female lead wife covers it up, causing the male lead husband to atone, and the couple then reconciling - usually with maximum one or two relatives knowing of the incident.

The only time such track has got appreciable viewership for an upheaval social-crusade angle is if the couple is *not* the lead couple.

And yet, the channel thought this would work (either as their idea or with their permission), when it never has before in a decade or two.

So whether it works or doesn't work, the channel flubbed. But apparently the channel doesn't pay for flubbing, it can pass the blame onto a series and decide its fate - regardless of whether the serial's fate is not very different from the channel's general success or lack thereof.

Doesn't a promo each month qualify as advance notice that they had decided for next month or whenever, for this week's or next week's TRP as decider, since the previous several weeks have had MEIEJ surviving (with not much different TRP from several other serials) despite no promotions?
We did get to see the MEIEJ leads in a promo aired as a promo (not precap) on the channel itself finally a few days back, but it was for another series.

The show, which in no time climbed up the success ladder and started ruling the hearts of the people all across will soon be seen going off air from the small screen.

Yes! Heard it right! Madhubala will air its last episode on July 12, 2014.
As per our reliable sources, "There have been talks of Madhubala going off air for quite some time now. Now the news is confirmed. Shakuntalam Telefilms Shastri Sisters will replace the show and it will air its first episode on July 14, 2014. Shastri Sisters is a story based on four sisters. You will get to see a gist of the background set in Kanpur."
