I am giving Gunjan a chance also on his first day I picked on some positives he has lots of things made a tonne of excuses (his playing 38 year old, he doesn't have to be cute as hero's his age in Bollywood by now have long time ago lost their looks but they still have their talent, and it's fine in Bollywood it works, we should give him a chance, looks aren't everything, as long as the story is good), his got great dialogue delivery, his expressions match the words coming out of his mouth however because his face is not handsome the expressions don't look nice to look at, you know if you are a fan of a show and you see a romantic scene you fantasize that you are the heroine (you can't do that if Gunjan is the hero). I guess in the entertainment business looks do matter then anyway else.

I just wish more effort was made to get a handsome face for the role now, even a handsome model take the job and the director to mould him into giving the right performance speaking honestly if they did find someone who was interested in his craft and prepared to put in the effort to learn his craft, give him a chance, I would be really happy. Right now the trademark of the show is ruined (this was the only show where the male and female leads were both good looking), for a young girl like Madhu to fantasize of AK and he is not cute or handsome, is not believable.

The story is good, I just wish I was enthusiastic and counting the hours and minutes to watch the show like I was at the beginning when I first started to watch MEIEJ in 2012. It's a fresh story, but the CV's didn't deliver on casting the main lead this time, they messed up.

They took Gunjan because they did not want a good looking actor. Have you seen the episode where Abhay asks the press if they find him good looking and everybody was silent. AK is supposed to be an average looking guy because thats how the Cvs wanted him to be. But i agree with you that i would have liked a better looking actor. I am liking his acting since he is improving more by the day.

Madhu fantasises about AK because he is an actor and he has done a lot of romantic movies. There are many actors in Bollywood that are average looking like Shahrukh but they have a hugefan following because of the roles that they have played.

It might take time for you to adjust to this show but watch it for DD till you get used to the new lead.

Mary I suspected as much that ST doesn't feel a good looking guy can play a convincing sensitive person, AK's characterisation is that of a person that is considerate of others, the crew on set we've seen it and also similarly with Madhu, his aware of her eyesight problems and guides her and puts her to sit, he has his own charm. SRK is having charisma and I feel ST is having in mind the Superstars in Bollywood when he is acting like a gentleman, despite being ordinary looking.

However like you said and I have said, I would have also have liked if he was better looking, a handsome guy. I'm praying for a chance to have KSG in the role, as a favour to Drashti, as his her friend. I'm well aware of 38 year old actors losing their looks after being initially quite cute when younger, I've actually used that as an excuse for him too, but even my excuses aren't cutting it with me, I think in March will be decision time for me either stick with this or switch to Beintehaan.

Yes, DD is awesome and Gunjan is doing really good. he is improving day by day, a good story will definitely boost MB !
