Madhu: "Mamma we will talk about it later its past 11 lets have breakfast first."

CHAPTER-6

Madhu leans on the head rest of her bed and draws her personal diary from her bedside table. She takes out a paper from her diary and cries to her heart's content with the paper buried on her face.

Madhu's POV(11:00 PM)

I went to the KUNDRA MANSION to express my gratefulness for his timely help but he proposed me for marriage. I was taken aback and came home heavy heartedly as I didn't know what to say to him because the moment I took his help I vowed silently in my heart that I will oblige to any favor that he asks in return for his gratefulness towards me and my family with devi maa as a witness. Little did I know that it was not Mr. Bittu Sharma but the super tycoon RK who helped me. That night I was not able to sleep well. Firstly I decided to return the money back to him even though it costs me my whole life to work for it but later decided against it as it may go as an insult on him as the money which I decided to return won't make any difference to his business empire. After papa's death mamma worked real hard for the three of us and my mamma is any day important to me than any other in this world and it is becoz of RK that my mamma is with me today. This was the only favor I could do to a man who saved my mamma's life. My mind was pestering to say a YES to the proposal in return for his help but my heart was against this decision since I liked Vivian. I thought about it all over the night and finally decided to say a YES as my mamma was any day important to me than Vivian and this was the only favor that I could do for RK for his timely help of returning my mamma to me. I knew I was not worthy of him since I was nowhere near him in power, position and status yet he wanted to marry me that may be only coz he loved me. I could find no reason behind his proposal. I decided to accept his love for me. The next day I called him to say that I was ready for the marriage but I wouldn't marry him without my mother's consent so asked him to wait till my mother's recovery. But after some days he told that there was a problem with his father's WILL, he told me that if he doesn't get married in a week's time then he won't be getting any of his father's properties and he urged me into a secret court marriage. But after our marriage he never tried any chance over me. He always gave predominant consideration for my feelings and I began to like him. Tomorrow I have to somehow convince mamma for this marriage since I cannot make him angry anymore. But now I should move on with RK. I should think about my new life with him. He is a nice man. He was a moral support for me for the past two months. He waited for me. He did everything in his power for my comfort. Now I should think about him, only him. From now onwards he is everything to me. He owns me. My heart. My body and my soul. Hey devi maa, plz bless me for my new life with RK.

Madhu to herself :" I know what you feel for me. Believe me, I also felt the same for you. But now my life is with someone else. I know it will take some time for you to forget me but one day you surely will find someone worthy of you. I will always pray for you. I destroyed all my feelings for you the day I married RK and I hope you also will be able to do the same. Plz forgive me, VIVIAN."(tears the paper into pieces)

With this she like any middle class girl tried to find solace with what she had and drifted to sleep but internally thinking about the different ways to convince her mother and her family for her relationship with RK.

The day dawned and RK was having breakfast with Bittuji. RK was all in his smiles as he knew that Madhu will be with him from today till eternity. He saw bittuji not in his usual self and a little sad and RK enquired.

RK : "what happened bittuji? Why are you so sad?"

Bittuji : "it's never too late chief. Please do not play any games with madhu. Plz leave her. She is not of your type. In fact she does not resemble the girls in your society who crave for you. She is good, warm, innocent and selfless. To me she is a divine soul. Hurting such a divine soul will be a beastly act. Plz chief I beg of you. Keep her away from your life, mind and world."

RK (fisting his hands in anger and at the top of his voice): "I CANT BITTUJI. WHAT DO YOU THINK I NEVER TRIED TO STAY AWAY FROM HER? BELIEVE ME I TRIED BITTUJI BUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO. I AM NOT PLAYING ANY GAMES WITH HER BITTUJI. I KNOW EVERYTHING YOU SAID ABOUT HER IS TRUE AND I DON'T DESERVE HER BUT BITTUJI I AM NOT ABLE TO FORGET HER. I AM ATTRACTED TO HER.ALSO YOU KNOW THE REASON WHY I WANT HER. I WANTED TO KEEP HER AWAY FROM MY WORLD BUT MY HEART IS NOT LETTING ME TO. WHAT DO I DO BITTUJI? (with that he goes down on his knees and cries) (merely a whisper) I LOVE HER BITTUJI AND BELIEVE ME BITTUJI I WILL KEEP HER HAPPY EVEN IF IT COSTS ME MY LIFE. I WANT HER AND THAT'S IT. I FIND COMFORT IN HER EMBRACE AND I.DON'T.WANT.TO.LOSE.HER.AT.ANY.COST.

Infact you will be surprised to know that we are already married."

Bittuji(with a shock on his face): "MARRIED? When? Chief, Why didn't you inform me?"

RK: "coz I knew you wouldn't let me to if I told you"

Bittuji(shocked by RK's behavior): "Chief, I can see that you have completely fallen for her. I can feel your love for her but chief what if she comes to know of you fully and decide to leave you then how will you be able to control yourself at that time? Coz she is a girl of values and morals. She won't be able to go with you after knowing about you"

RK: "No Bittuji, I will make sure that she never comes to know about any of my secrets. In the last 3 months she came closer to my heart than myself. I can sense her in all my emotions. I want to own her. I want to protect her. I can't and I won't let her go from my life."

Bittuji by now knew that RK was completely smitten by Madhu and any of his advice wont do any good. So he just prayed to god for both of their well beings and decided to proceed with his work.

Madhu's House

Madhu had prepared everything for breakfast and was eagerly waiting for her family to return home. At 11:00 am Padmini accompanied by Trishna, Mukund and Rohan came inside and comforted themselves on the sofa.

Madhu: "Breakfast is ready. Everybody just freshen up and till then I will place the food on the table."

Padmini: "OK as you wish"

Everyone sat to have the breakfast but Madhu was stealing eyes from Padmini and she knew that something that her dear daughter was hiding from her. After breakfast,

Padmini: "Madhu, Now come with my answers please. I know that you are hiding something from me and I want to know what it is."

Madhu(takes a deep breath and sighs and closes her eyes): "Mamma I am married"

Everyone(in a chorus): "WHAT?"
Madhu: "Yes mamma I married RK. We had a secret court marriage."

Padmini(blurred in anger, got up from the chair and held Madhu's shoulder in anger): "MADHU LOOK AT ME. HOW CAN YOU MARRY SOMEONE AND THAT TOO WITHOUT INFORMING ME? DON'T YOU KNOW THAT I DON'T WANT YOU TO GET MARRIED BEFORE 24 (Shaking her vigorously) HOW CAN YOU MADHU? YOU HAVE HURT ME MADHU. WERE YOU PEOPLE IN LOVE?"

Madhu (knew that Padmini would not accept this marriage as long as she senses her feelings for RK. So she decided to say): "Yes mamma we were in love for past 3 months. I asked him to wait for your permission but there was a problem with his father's will so couldn't wait till you recovered."

Trishna( anger and slight jealous): "Oh! Now I understand why that private man agreed for an interview with you. What a nice catch Madhu. How did you do it?"

Padmini(turns towards trishna with anger in her eyes) :" shut up trishna, I know my princess well. There is something else which we don't know.(turning to madhu and cupping her face) tell me jaan, I know you would never take such a hasty step and that too without my permission. No. Never. I won't believe it. Did he force you into this marriage? I can see what you feel for him from your eyes. I am convinced that you like him. Believe me I am so happy for you. But marriage is a far off step baby. I know something forced you into this step. I want to know what it is. "

Madhu(was happy to know that her mother accepted her relation and she gave a half smile) :" no mamma, I married him of my free own will. He didn't force me into anything."

Padmini (slowly as a whisper) :" jaan, you could have waited for me. How I longed for your happy life. But certainly not like this and not before 24. You have hurt me. Now what will I do? How am I going to protect you?

Saying this she rushed towards her room crying and closed the door. Madhu followed padmini to her room and pounded on the door.

Madhu (crying hardly) :"mamma I know I have hurt you. But I am sorry . plz open the door, mamma. Plzzz for my sake."

Thrishna (angrily) :" now don't try to act too smart and stop your waterworks, madhu. Mamma is not interested in you anymore. She loved you more than rohan and me but you betrayed our trust. You have your luxurious life with you na then enjoy it. Why do you act to care about us now?"

" I think that's enough. One more word against madhu and you will regret it" RK's hoarse voice came from the door behind. Everyone turned their heads to the door to see a glaring RK standing(leaning on the door with hands crossed against his chest). Everyone was gaping at each other and Padmini also came out from her room hearing the noise.

RK(continued): "What all she told is true. According to my father's will I had to get married before I am 29 and we got a secret court marriage. I don't find any fault in that. Madhu wanted her mother's and her family's permission before marriage but I didn't have the time. So I don't want her to be blamed in this."

Trishna(still angry): "Oh! So the lovable husband has come here for his wife's defence."

RK: "Of course Trishna. I have come for her defence only but not only for that. I have come to take her along with me as of now everyone of you know that she is my legally wedded wife.(turning to Madhu) Pack your things biwi. I give you an hour's time. (turning to Padmini) In the mean time I would like to have a word with you in private."

With this Madhu marched towards her room to pack her things thinking about the possible conversation between RK and Padmini. After an hour's time Madhu packed all her things and came to the drawing room. After sometime Padmini's room door opened and both RK and Padmini came out from there.

RK(softly): "Mamma, I want you to think about it seriously anyways I am taking Madhu now with me. There is a press conference in my mansion tomorrow and I would be happy if all of you would come for the press conference."

With this RK says a GOOD BYE to everyone, asks patil to get Madhu's bags into his car, holds Madhu's hands and walks out of the house. Madhu gives an innocent look to Padmini while RK was dragging Madhu towards his car and before anyone could do anything, they are off.
