I think the deserving part is related to love, Madhu and Rk deserve each other because they LOVE each other, normally in love there should not be a comparison between who is good and who is bad of the two, they complement each other, there should only be more understanding and trust between them, everything else is already there (love, passion, attraction, memories...)
