Chapter 11
The venue hall, had been beautifully decorated with a metallic blue and white theme. The lighting wasn't very bright but enough for everyone to see. In the far corner there was a small bar for people to order their drinks at, be it alcoholic or not. Servants walked around the the hall with tray which had refreshments and snacks as dinner would be served later. People stood in groups chatting and discussing while others preferred to sit and talk around the tables. The Media had been given space outside at the grand entrance for pictures to be taken of the people and celebrities which would walk in while some had been granted permission to enter the party in order to take photographs. It was a grand party and would be front page news the following day, and why wouldn't it be, it was the Mr. Verma's party, who is one of the most successful person in the whole of Mumbai.
"We are so late.." said Trishna in worry as she parked up. All the drivers had been taken by the rest of the family leaving her to drive as Madhu does not know her ways around. Madhu didn't say much she still was a bit uncomfortable with her. Yes she had accepted her as her sister somewhere in her heart and also wanted to give both of them a chance of bonding but she knew she couldn't do it easily or just all of a sudden. She needed time to accept and try to erase the bitterness towards her sister which had been building up inside her for years.
"Madhu Di!" Trishna shook her.
"huh?! What happened?" Madhu looked at with a questioning gaze.
"I called you four times but you were lost in your own world.." she answered "Oh Sorry.."
"Di...eh am i allowed to call you that?" she asked uncertain and scared. Madhu gave her an assuring nod and a small smile to which Trishna smiled brightly and thanked her.
"We are so late.." Trishna said as she noticed Arjun calling her. Picking it up she explained that they are just outside the venue and coming inside.
"Come lets go! Roma must too be waiting.." said Madhu as she got out of the car whilst managing her Saree.
"Wow, the two beautiful sisters!" said Arjun in amazement as he walked over to them helping Trishna out of the car. Giving her a quick kiss and complimenting her he turned towards Madhu and gave her a friendly hug. "You are looking stunning Madhu!"
"Thank you" she smiled
"Come on lets get you two inside." he said linking his arm with Trishna and walking ahead. Madhu followed about two steps before she felt someone grab her wrist and then tugging it slightly making her turn around.
There stood a mesmerized RK who just couldn't take his eyes off her. She looked heavenly in that dark night blue Saree with little make-up and just a few simple accessories. Madhu herself looked up and down at him. He was dressed in formal Black suite and a Dark blue shirt. He had gelled his hair side wards allowing a few strands to fall on is forehead and some to stand up. "You look Gorgeous!"
"You don't look bad yourself Mr.Kundra.." she said with a playful smile "Ahaan" he smirked, "So Miss. Choudhary, would you do me the honors of being my date for tonight's evening?" he asked like a gentleman, straightening his back and bowing his head a bit.
"A Handsome Hunk and a Superstar doesn't have a date?! Hard to believe don't you think?" said Madhu raising her brows whilst smiling.
"Believe it or not my Lady, i don't. So don't you think we would make a great couple tonight? You're alone, I am alone but together we would get heads turning." he stated with a smirk still adoring his face.
"So what say?" he asked offering his arm to which Madhu happily put her hand on. Both looked at one another and bursted out laughing at their little play.
Once calmed RK escorted her towards the entrance which had indeed many heads turning, well the Media's mostly as everyone else was inside. People started to furiously take pictures of the couple who were walking in arms linked. This was page 3 and front page news to them, Superstar RK and new and only Girlfriend'! The Media always tried to sniff up something from RK's private life but never really managed to do that. Never had they traced down a girl whom RK was dating because he never really has, therefore the only gossip they could create were by linking him up to his heroines. But today it was a whole new story.
Once they managed to get past the Media with the help of security guards they were in for another stare. Everyone turned and looked at them. They looked like a made for one another couple and this had many adoring them but also many envying one of them. The girls envied Madhu while the guys wanted Madhu.
"This was not a very good idea.." Madhu whispered to RK who looked confident from the outside still but inside he did kind of feel weird. Everyone must e thinking they are a couple however he considered Madhu as his very dear and close friend.
"What is there to worry when RK is here?" he responded back to which Madhu just rolled her eyes making him chuckle.
"You know you look very cute when you do that" he spoke. Madhu gave him a whatever' look and both continued walking inside whilst people still stared at them especially Deepali who burned with jealousy. Never had RK really paid attention to her and here this Madhubala girl is getting everyone's attention. Plus she had put great effort on ruining Trishna's dress but still that girl managed to show up! But the question was how? It was the same one she had ruined...
"Since when are you two a thing?" asked Arjun amazed at them. Gosh do they share great chemistry!' He thought
"Yes Superstar! You left me Heart-Brocken!" Anjali faked a cry. RK smiled and gave her a side hug,
"Aww, i'll always be your Superstar." he said planting a light kiss on her cheek "And let me clarify! We two are not a thing.." said Madhu looking at group which both joined. All 4 looked at them confused wanting more info.
"But you two came in together looking like a couple.." asked Adi
"So what? Madhu is my date for tonight but that doesn't mean that we are dating..."
"Oh yes it does." said Trishna
"Believe us..we are just friends.." said Madhu making the twins burst out in laughter and the other couple also smile widely.
"What's funny?" both asked in unison
"Don't all famous personalities in the film industry say, We are JUST FRIENDS'?" Anjali answered laughing again. Both RK and Madhu didn't bother arguing with them.
The Party was on full swing which everyone enjoyed. Photographers were following the Star couple of the evening everywhere trying to get perfect shot which both found highly annoying therefore decided to split up for some time. RK had chats with producers and new directors who wanted to get him signed for a movie but all the while RK had his eyes on Madhu who socialized easily with people having a great time.
"May I have a dance?" asked RK again getting into a gentleman mode by extending his hand and bowing his head in front of her. They had eaten dinner as a group and then noticing that people were joining the dance floor he decided on asking his date for a dance. Madhu placed her small hand into his large palm, smiling to which her Rishu smiled back.
Leading her towards the dance floor, hand in hand, he turned her around and placed her hand on his shoulder whilst he slid his under her Saree onto her milky waist. Madhu felt chills go though her making her straighten her back in reflex. He smiled seeing the effect he had on her. Smirking he pulled her closer whilst his other hand entwined with her hand. The both moved with slowly with the soft music in the background lost in one another's eyes. It was a kind of magic which they had never felt or sensed before but whatever it was...it felt Good.
