The stardom track was never the main track. No channel would have agreed to show the series in that case.
It was not a heroine-centric story, though the gymnastics they pulled off with constantly changing the serial's intended title almost landed them in litigation. It was about the superstar making the girl a heroine.
And the worst part is that Madhu is being shown in a glamour career with a director she insisted on, the story that director insisted on and which is guaranteed to be useless for her husband, a film which will be as worthless for her husband's requirement as if it had never been made, she is going to be shown equally or more successful than her husband as a result (though totally unintentionally) of all her proactive efforts and choices, and if all this were not enough to place her image in a dicey situation, she is shown slapping her husband when a pretence-slap would have done equally well to showcase her ability to act i.e. pretend. Preferably she should have refused a real slap both to Mehul and to RK. It at all she had to be shown slapping RK, it should have been after he persuaded her to do so.
Anyway, TRP dip has been gradual at 0.1 fall each week, until the most recent which was more drastic. So we can expect it to rise to a higher mediocre point and then probably resume a steady gradual dip until they dispose of Pabho and put both the leads in focus for the stardom track rather than trying to sideline one.
Seems you have many things to rant about, for the slap I didn't take it that way, for me it's just a slap for a film's purpose nothing less nothing more, she was trying to make the slap look real which resulted in her slapping him a little harder that she should have done for a fake slap. It didn't bother me a lot actually.
For the film serving Rk's purpose, we still need to watch and see, people anyway will see the film for Rk and this is what Rk meant when he challenged the producers, he didn"t precisely talk about the kind of story will that film have ( hero-heroine ya love story centric), the sole fact that Rk is starring as a lead in the film will make people watch it, the film being a heroine centric doesn't imply the hero will be sidelined ( example Jab we met), it all depends on how they show it.
Mehul isn't trying to impose anything on Rk, Rk gives it back to him just like when he stopped shooting the first day, lately,MC seems more like a father figure for Rk ( their chat of yesterday's episode about women, and when he applauded Rk for being sucha good producer and also when he stopped him from dinking during work time), so sincerely, MC doesn't bother me now.
I also want the show to be about a superstar making a heroine of a normal girl (his wife in this case), still hope they show it this way, I want him to be her mentor, to teach her, yet being the same intelligent and successful superstar he has always been.
Let's just watch and see how they will handle all this, I'm of these kind of people who really wait till the end to give a proper judgement, because in the process, many things might appear to explain and justify something we considered clunky at some point.
But agree with you we don't want stupid Rk or stupid majbooris😊 not even for drama requirement, and Rk should never be sidelined, he should have equal importance as Madhu if not more given the fact that he has always been (at least for me) the USP of MEIEJ
