All of them looked shocked. After a while Deepali smiled and and again hugged Madhu and said, "Welcome to your sasural Bhabijee!!"

Radhajee also looked calm with the sudden news. She asked, "Deepali, yeh tumhari kya lagti hai? Tumhari shaadi mein to isse nahi dekha?"

D- Maa, Madhu meri nanad hai, shaadi mein wo issliye nahi thi kyunki Madhu ke pita yani mere sasurjee ka maan na hai ki shaadi mein vidwaoon ka hona ashubh hota hai, aur Madhu vidwa hai.

Madhu closed her eyes in fear. She thought that now there will be big outburst knowing that she was a widow. But to her surprise, Radhajee spoke, "Hey bhagwan, waha ke log abhi bhi yeh sab purani baatein maante hai? Vidwa hai to kya hua, kya usse jeene ka hak nahi hai?"

Madhu opened her eyes in surprise and looked at Radhajee.

Radhajaa- Beta, Deepali tumhe acche se jaanti hai, aur jab usse tum dono ki shaadi se koi apatti nahi to mujhe bhi koi apatti nahi kyunki mujhe apne bete ki pasand pe poora bharosa hai.

But it was Mohan's voice which shook Madhu. "Radha!! Tum pagal ho gayi ho kya? Tum bte ki shaadi se khushiyaan mana rahi ho...??

D- Par dad, Madhu bohot acchi ladki hai aur Rishu ke liye bilkul perfect.

Mohan- Mana ki yeh ladki acchi hai magar zara soch Deepali, jo ladka ab tak bina kissi kaam ke ghar par baitha hua hai, jisse apni jimmedariyon ka koi ahsaas nahi hai, wo bhala apni biwi ki jimmedariyon ko kya uthayga?? Arre Rishab to ab tak kamaata bhi nahi hai, to kisske bharose wo apni patni ko yaha laya hai?? Radha, tumhe apne bete shaadi se khushiyan manaani hai to manaao, par main inmein shaamil nahi ho sakta.

Saying this he left for his room.

Radhajee- Beta tumlog kuch mat sochna, yeh hai hi aaise. Deepali, Rajveer ko andar to le jaa(To Rishbala) Tum dono thodi der yehi ruko, main aarti ki thal lekar aayi.

The Kundra family accepted Madhu as their daughter-in-law. Mohan was angry on Rishab for marrying without their consent as well as before getting any job, but he liked Madhu a lot. Madhu also felt relieved on being accepted.

At dinner table, Rajveer told everything that happened in the village to Deepali and the Kundra family. At first they were shocked as well as angry on Balraj for doing such injustice. Mohan insisted Rajveer to work in his company. But Rajveer denied that saying, "Nahi papajee, aap bohot bare businessman hai wo mujhe pata hai, lekin iska matlab yeh nahi ki main humari rishtedaari ka najayaz fayda uthau. Main yaha jo kuch bhi karoonga apni mehnat aur apne hunar se karoonga."

M- Beta mujhe garv hai ki meri beti ko tum jaisa pati mila hai...varna aajkal to ladke job pane se pehle hi shaadi kar baithte hai...mere hi bete ko dekh lo.

RK stood up from the chair in anger and left for his room without completing his dinner.

At night, Madhu came to RK' room and saw RK preparing his bed on the couch.

M- Rishabjee, aap couch pe kyun kar rahe hai?

RK- Madhu tum aaj bed pe so jaao, main couch pe so jaaunga.

M- Kyun?

RK- Agar mere bed pe sone se tumhe koi problem ho to?

M- Aur problem kyun hogi mujhe?

RK- Madhu, main jaanta hoon kit um thodi purane khayalaton ki ho...tumhare liye pati hi sab kuch hai...chahe tum apne pati se pyaar karo ya na karo ek patni hone ke saare farz tumhe nivane padenge...magar main aaisa nahi hoon..tumse pyaar karta hoon ya tumse shaadi ki hai iska matlab yeh nahi ki tumpe hak jataaon ya tumhare saath zabardasti karoon...so Good night...sleep tight.

Saying this he slept off.

M- (self thought) Rishabjee, pyaar na karne ki baat yaha aati hi nahi hai, kyunki main aapse bohot pyaar karti hoon...bas itna nahi jaanti ki kaise apne pyaar ka izhaar karoon...

Madhu lied on the bed facing RK. She looked the calm expressions on his face. She felt sorry for him as though he luved her so much, he was not getting her love in return which he deserved. She closed her eyes in unhappiness. Just then RK opened his eyes and looked at Madhu. He felt sorry for her as she has to marry and stay with the person whom she does not love (according to him). He closed his eyes and slept.

Next Morning, Madhu took a quick shower and came out wearing a beautiful red saree. She felt really special as it was after three years that she was wearing red, since after Shiv's death, her world was confined into the pale shades of colours like violet and grey. She sat in front of the mirror which was just beside the couch, drying her hair. Due to her act, some of the water from her hair fell on RK, who was still sleeping, and woke him up.

Madhu was thinking about Motihari when RK's voice startled her, "Yeh kaunsa naya tarika hai mujhe uthane ka Madhu?"

Madhu turned her face to RK and saw that his face was wet. She smiled and said, "Good Morning and Sorry...galti se yeh paani aap pe giri. Layiye main paunch deti hoon."

She got up and sat near RK. Slowly she rubbed the water droplets from his face, all the while looking at his face. A current ran though RK's spine as he felt her touch on him. He slowly spoke, "Madhu, pehle jis tarah tum mujhe uthaya karti thi waise kyun nahi uthati ho?"

M- Pehle kaise uthati thi?

RK- Apni pyaari pyaari aawaz se aarti gaa kar.

Madhu looked down and said, "Aajkal yeh sab karne ka man nahi karta hai."

RK- Kyun?

M- Bas aaise hi. Aap uthiye aur naha lijiye, main breakfast lekar aati hoon.

When RK came down for breakfast, Rajveer had already left for his interview. The dining table was preoccupied by Deepali, Mohan and Radha. Madhu served all of them the breakfast which she had made for them. Seeing Rishab joining them, Mohan spoke, "Rishab, aaj tum mere saath M<r. Mehta ke office mein chal rahe ho.

RK- Kyun? Mera waha kya kaam hai?

M- Tum waha Mr. Mehta ke under kaam sikhoge aur fir humari company join karoge.

RK- What? No...never.

M- U have to Rishab.

RK- Dad...no...mujhe samajh nahi aata aapki problem kya hai...

M- meri problem yeh hai ki tumhari umar 26 ho rahi hai aur tum abhi bhi ghar mein nikamme baithe ho.

RK- Dad, why don't you just leave me alone?

M- Coz you are my son and mujhe tumhare bhale bure ka ahsaas hai jo kitumhe nahi hai.

RK- No dad..har cheez mein aaapki marzi nahi chalegi...mujhe nahi banna hai Mr. Mehta's employee...

Saying this he got up and started walking towards his room.

Mohan- Where do you think you are going? Mehtajee se baat kiye huye mujhe ek saal ho chuka hai...kya kahoon main unse? Yehi ki my son wants to become a mere professor??

RK- Izzat se baat kijiye dad...ek professor ki iss society bohot respect hoti hai...atleast Mehta incle ke employees se jyada...and agar professor's nahi hote aap apni college ki padhai kaise puri karte??

M- Are you really sure that you will pass the College Service Examination? Ek simple se IQ test mein fail ho jaoge tum...and you think of cracking the CSE?? Main 58 saal ka hoon...kabhi bhi retire ho jaunga, fir tumhari nawabi kaise chalegi? Mere kehne ke bawajood tumne college ke 7 saal iss BA, Ma, PhD mein waste kiye...koi acchi si degree lete to tumhari naukri pakki hoti aaj.

RK- Main in private farms mein naukri karne mein interested nahi hoon.

M- To kya saari zindagi ghar pe baithne mein interested ho? Aur hoge kyun nahi, tumhare baap ne tumhare liye sab kuch save karke rakha hai...Why should you damn care????

Both of them shot an angry glare to each other and went to their respective rooms. Radhajee and Deepali looked sad. Madhu followed Rishab to his room.

RK was pacing in his room angrily. Madhu spoke softly, "Main kuch kahoon?" RK didn't reply. Madhu took it as permission and continued, "Rishabjee, mujhe lagta hai aapka dad se baat karne ka tareeka zara galat tha. Aap ko pata hai, agar aap apni baat thoda calmly kehta, thoda dad ke point of view ko samajhte, to shayad aapka reaction kuch aur hota?" RK shot her an angry glare and continued pacung. Madhu continued, "Wo jo kuch bhi kehte hai aapke bhale ke liye hi kehte hai, isliye unpe gussa karne ke bajay aapko to thankful hona chahiye that someone really cares for you. Ab aage aapki marjee."

Saying this she left the door. But she was surprised to see Mohan at the door of their room. Mohan turned and went away from there as soon he got noticed by Madhu. Madhu gave small smile and went to do her work.

RK kept thinking whatever Madhu told him. Finally he understood that she wasn't wrong neither was Mohan. During dinner at the night, all the family was eating together and celebrating the Rajveer's employment in a very well known accountancy farm. Mohan asked Radha to pass the curry. But surprisingly RK passed the bowl to him. Mohan looked surprised and so did everyone else. They stopped eating as well as talking.

RK- Dad...I am sorry about morning...

Mohan looked shocked. He could not believe his ears.

RK- I know aapko meri carrer ki chinta hai dad, mujhe thoda waqt aur chahiye...agle hafte mere results aanewale hai, if I fail to crack CSE, then aap jo kahoge main wahi karoonga...I promise.

Mohan stood up from his chair with a serious look on his face. Radha and Deepali thought that there would be another round of quarrel between them. But to their surprise mohan advanced his arms for hugging RK. RK at once hugged him and said, "Sorry Papa...maine aaj tak jo kuch bhi aapko kaha...saari cheezon ke liye sorry."

M- Its ok my son...I am proud to have a son like you.

Every person present there was having tears in their eyes. When both of them pulled apart, Mohan said to Radha, "Dekha Radha, pehle to humara beta humari ek bhi baat nahi manta tha...par bahu kea ate hi seedha ban gaya, (turning to RK), tujhe kya laga maine teri aur Madhu ki baatein nahi suni ki tujhe mujhse calmly baat karna chahiye tha..?? (To Madhu) Thanks beta, iss pagal ko line par lane ke liye."

Madhu- Ur most welcome, Dad.
