This was requested by Chakku (_Mojo.Jojo_)! She requested an OS in which RishBala dance in the rain, set in the time of them still falling for each other.
Falling For Her
Three months. That's how long it had been since I forced marriage upon her. I swore to get vengeance for the slaps she crossed my face with, but here I was wondering what my feelings for her were. I sat on my round red couch thinking about all I had done to her. Was it too much? Had I crossed my limits? How could she be so okay with me despite all that I put her through?
I heard her light footsteps interrupt my thoughts. I turned my head to the left to see her walking into the room in her pink anarkali. The anarkali I had left her standing in, in the rain after forcefully getting sasurji's thumbprint on a new contract. I shook my head and got up off my couch. She walked towards me while keeping her eyes on a picture in her hands. She raised her eyes and noticed me in front of her, causing her steps to come to a sudden stop. I stepped towards her and watched as she instinctively stepped back.
"I…"
She glanced down at the picture in her hands and I followed her movement. I saw a picture of the both of us from the party I had disgraced her at. I looked at her face and noticed her anxious eyes on my face.
"Ma…she gave this t…"
"Biwi, today I'm taking you out."
"What?"
"You heard me. We're going out, somewhere, I don't know where yet, but I want to take you somewhere."
"Why…?"
"Can't I take my biwi out when I want?"
"No…I'm okay at home RK."
She was just about to walk past me when I spoke up.
"You can't say no to me."
I turned to face her as she turned to face me in response. She stared at me silently, knowing she was fighting a losing battle.
"What do I wear?"
I looked her up and down while she stood in an uncomfortable stance. I walked towards our dresser and opened her side of it. I rummaged through her clothes while she kept her eyes on me from behind. That's when I saw the most beautiful pink sari. I pulled it out and opened it. A silver beaded pink sari came into view.
"Perfect. You're wearing this."
I handed it to her and watched as he looked at it.
"But this is for part…"
"Are you going to a party any time soon?"
"No…"
"You're wearing this. Go change."
"But where are we going?"
"I'll let you know when I figure that out myself. Now go!"
Why was I taking her out? I wasn't sure myself. I figured it was to make it up to her for the terrible things I had done to her. I thought back to all the times I would watch her sitting on our bed lost in thought. She needed to go out and that's where I was going to take her. Out. Where to? I wasn't sure.
---
It had been an hour since we left home and with no destination in mind, I didn't stop the car.
"Where are we going RK?"
"I still don't know."
"Then why…"
"Biwi, stop talking."
Another five minutes of driving and we found ourselves driving in a rainstorm. The windshield was white with rain and I couldn't see a thing, and then suddenly the car came to a halt.
"What are we going to do RK?!"
"Biwi, go check what's wrong with the car."
"WHAT?! Me?!"
"Well do you expect me, superstar RK, to go fix his own car in this weather?"
"You've got to be kidding me…"
"I'm not."
"This is the worst outing I've ever had."
"I'm just kid…"
Before I could finish speaking, she had already stepped out of the car. I couldn't see anything from within the car until the rain slightly decreased. I watched the rain falling down on her as she began walking towards the front of the car. There was no way I was going to let her fix the car. I stepped outside and called her name.
"Madhu!"
She turned to stare at me and my breath caught in my throat. The rain dripped from the ends of her hair and ran down her chest. Her sari, soaked, revealed all her perfect curves. The way her eyes fluttered in the rain and her hands ran through her hair took my breath away. I began walking towards her.
"RK?"
It was as though I didn't hear her. I continued to walk in her direction. As I got closer and closer, she turned her back towards me. I saw the raindrops sliding down her bare back as her back arched in response to the cold rain. Something came over me as I ran my hand across her waist. I felt her stomach muscles tighten in response to my touch as I pulled her closer towards me. As her back touched my chest, I placed my face beside hers, over her shoulder. Her wet hair touched the side of my face and I closed my eyes. I felt her turn her head slightly in my direction and I opened my eyes.
"RK…"
"Shh…"
I turned her around by the waist and pulled her close. I could feel her heart racing and her chest rising against mine as her eyes remained lowered. I leaned my forehead against hers as I took a hold of one of her hands. I tightened my other hand on her waist and watched as she slowly placed her free hand on my shoulder. She looked up into my eyes and her big brown eyes pulled me in.
"Can I have this dance?"
She looked around and then back towards me.
"There's no music…"
I'm an actor; so I did what I do best, act. I was sure she had seen it before. I let go of her hand and played an invisible piano in the air. A smile crossed her face which made me want her more in the moment.
"Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?"
She guessed right. I interlocked my fingers with hers again as I nodded my head in response to her question. Little did she know that I wasn't referring to the movie when I agreed to her rhetorical question. I stared down at her passionately as we began to sway in the rain slowly. She lowered her eyes again and smiled. She let me go and went to walk away but I grabbed onto her arm. She didn't turn to face me as I closed the distance between us. I ran my hands down her wet arms from behind and then wrapped them around her. I watched as the water dripped down from her neck and over her shoulder. I lowered my lips and placed them on the nape of her neck, she raised her shoulder in response and arched her neck. I noticed her eyes were closed and the effect I had on her made my heart flutter. I felt an odd tingly feeling within me as a chill ran down my spine while I kissed her neck again. The salty water from her skin tasted bitter-sweet and I wanted more.
The honk of a passing-by car pulled me out of my trance. I instantly pulled away and stepped back. She slowly turned around to face me with quivering lips. I turned myself to face the car and changed the topic.
"I…I don't think we'll find a mechanic in this weather."
She didn't respond. She simply walked past me and went to sit inside the car. I could've sworn I could see a smile on her face from behind the windshield. She watched me keenly and I looked away.
Was I falling for the girl I had once despised with all my will?
