Yeah I do too. Still trying to be in line with the plot I have written. But maybe I can give you all a surprise.

Part 15

PRESENT TIME

Feeling parched Madhu stopped narrating and went out of the room excusing herself. Ravi was still sitting on his seat when RK stood up and glanced around the study room hoping the host wouldn't mind it. He found books written by Madhu in the shelf across where they sat and opened one of them to find a quote written on a page. "I would like to dedicate this book to someone special who had always encouraged me to write a book specially a love story."

"It's amazing. You should write a book."

"I am not that good."

He saw a man telling a woman to write something and the woman denied but he couldn't see them. Their faces were blurred in his memory. As the memory stopped in its track he was jerked back to reality with the noise of opening of the door and closing the book in his hand he turned around.

"I am sorry to keep you waiting. Deepak has just returned from his school and wants to meet you all. I hope you won't mind." She apologized and stepped out again only to come back with Deepak.

"Hello uncle." Deepak shook hands with both RK and Ravi and they answered politely.

"You study in Mumbai International School?" RK asked noticing his school uniform, surprised.

"Yes but why?" Deepak told while Ravi glanced from RK to Deepak.

"That's my school too." He answered smiling.

"Deepak It's your lunch time. Go and see if Nani has returned or not." Madhu took him with her till the door and then he went away waving.

Madhu turned around and found a book in his hand and raised her eyebrows at that. "You were reading this? It's the first book I had written."

"No I didn't. I had just taken it out when you came inside. I hope you don't mind it." He arranged the book in its place and took his seat again to let her know that it was her cue now.

"So where were we?" She said sitting on her chair again.

NARRATION OF MADHU

When she came out of bathroom first she couldn't recognize her room and then her mouth hung open. Her room that she had cleaned just this morning was turned into a thrift shop in a matter of 5 minutes. Trishna and Roma were fussing over her dresses throwing them in the air after sparing a quick glance on each one. "Didu? Roma? What are you two doing?" she asked.

"What else? Finding a good dress for you." Said Trishna turning around a bit with a hint of irritation.

"And you don't have any." told Roma dumping one of her dress on the bed.

"I am not going to wear a special dress for an act."She said and they paused and turned towards Madhu with hands on their waists. "And what are you going to wear, dear Madhubalaji?"

"Anything but I want you two out of this room this instance." She almost shouted and sighed thinking the time her things were going to take to be arranged in her cupboard again.

"But Madhu?" Trishna tried but Madhu was determined and after pushing them out of the room she picked one of her dresses that were lying on the floor. "Yes this is perfect." She muttered.

RK had been mentally kicking himself for waiting in their living room with two other women of the house who were just as anxious as he was. He had been thinking to stroll outside and come back later after an hour or so till Madhu get ready for meeting his mother but what he had never thought that she would come out in a matter of few minutes looking as beautiful as a blue rose. He had expected her to take more time, a lot more if he was being honest, but she amazed him and his eyes travelled from her head to toes, appreciating her all the way down. She had been wearing a blue colored suit with flats the types she always wore. "It's appropriate right?"She asked blushing under his gaze.

Trishna and Roma frowned. "Madhu this is…." Roma said but RK finished it off for her in a daze. "Perfect!" When Trishna and Roma turned their head to look at him he assembled his thoughts, straightening his pose consciously. "Shall we?"

When Madhu nodded Trishna and Roma smiled at her wishing her luck and RK stopped at the door again to look at the beauty still standing undecided near her family. "Maa will be fine I promise." Hearing it her head turned sideways and she smiled taking a deep breath betting on the person she had felt attraction for from the very beginning hoping he wouldn't let her fall down.

He opened the car door for her and held out his hand reading her nervousness beneath those smiling eyes. He knew it was not easy for her and with his mother on the other side, her traditions and beliefs were pulling her back but he knew she was the only one who could help him out. He wanted his mother to reject Madhu tonight, the sooner the rejection the faster the relief for Madhu would be, but a part of him at the far corner of his mind wanted his mother to accept her, accept her as daughter-in-law of this house not knowing it was not written in her destiny yet. She had to go a long way to gain that name and it wasn't going to be easier for him either.
