He replied,"We are working to find a nice ending to the drama but Sultan is the central character which can revolve new changes in the show.So we will not be ending the character so soon but we can keep him permanently in the show and find a better conclusion to the current drama."

In my opinion what he meant was that they know that current track is not being liked and they are trying to find a way to get out of the hole they have dug themselves into.

After all he is a business executive and is trying to give a diplomatic reply. Since i am working in a corporate environment I could read between the lines.

By calling Sultan a central character he means that Sultan is an established antagonist in the show and they will need him to further the story line. After all a show cannot run only on romance but they will try to develop the character and remove the potholes.

He has no where said that Sultan is the lead of the show. Also he cannot openly say that one of their characters is crap since that will be bad publicity.

He has openly admitted that the current track will have to be ended.

And also unless the person promoting Sultan is a major shareholder in Viacom 18 they are not going to continue with him at this rate. They are running the channel to make profit & not do Samaj seva😉
