For him RK has become the symbol of every wrong that has been done against him. And it is not about his mother ' it is about him.

It seems that he has even managed to lie to himself regarding his actual motives and convinced himself that he is on a holy crusade while he is simply avenging himself.

RK completely recognizes Sultan's anger/frustration over Madhu. As he rightly said "tumhari ankhon main dikhta hai"

That is why he is so sure that Sultan will follow him & madhu. He doesnot know that Meera's story is true and doesnot realize the extent of hatred Sultan harbours towards him. He simply considers him a thwarted lover. Madhu not telling him the truth can even put him in physical danger as Sultan is after all a criminal.

👏👏👏👏👏 hats off dear... your comment is more powerful than my post. you rightly said everything for me. You rightly said Sultan is lying to himself also and RK had recognised it in his eyes. You are right if Madhu hides everything from RK he will be in danger and even RK's yesterday's poem and his catching scene from behind when Madhu was slipping at staircase symbolise same that she is entering in danger and RK will save him no matter whatever comes or happens.
