I feel the reason is to cover the risk of vd leaving the show and show getting affected . They want it to be like Balikavadhu keep on running for years with some or other story line and actors
Coming and Leaving should not impact it . They tried triangle did not work so now they are trying rk connection ,if it works well and good otherwise they will try something else or shut the show

lol 😆 I used to watch BV once , but after Pratyusha left the show I too left watching it 🤣 & same wl happen with MB too if anyone of DD / VD leaves the show 😆 but whatever BV Cvs did , they didn leave the theme of child marriage for a single time . But in MB ?? can u spot any "Passionate lovestory on Bollywood background" showed till now 😕 ?? Rishbala lovestory was passionate , but where's the bollywood theme ?? & now this Donny bhai... they r shifting from the main theme... & Bhai can bcome RK's replacement...that sounds too funny 🤣
