Well I did gap year and did a job then i didn't like the job and wnated to change my course so I liked psychology and i could get in Uni with the points i got ... but am just waiting for my maths result...

Yes you should do something you enjoy , look into the job that you would get to and see if you would like to do that ... awww your dad sweet if he says that but yeah you should work if you want to , it's get boring being idle and doing nothing ...
