It actually does not matter what we think, we will have to go what cvs say. Also if you think back they were all ready to get padmini married to Malik without thinking of any legalities of her marital status with Ballu

We did discuss that a lot they were going ahead with the Shamini marriage without arranging a divorce for Padmini

Nafs, traditionally bigamy was allowed in various places. Including polyandry. However it is not legally allowed, even though it still happens and generally the law doesn't care much unless one of the parties involved makes it so.

Society wise though, it is looked down on and not considered okay.

The courts are also iffy. Technically the second marriages are illegal and invalid, however the courts have ruled that the women still have certain rights.

Well as far as I am aware, Polygamy isn't legal in Hindu religion! But people in the remote areas still follow this custom.

About the Ramayan character u asked, yes Raja Dashrath was a real entity who also happened to be Lord Ram's father.

Yes he converts into Muslim to marry Hema, coz as per Hindu tradition you cant marry more than once if your wife is alive!!

If that's the case I really hope they show us flashbacks of the marriage of Mohan Kundra to Meera, and we can know exactly what happened, I think they married traditionally with the pheras and he married Radha with pheras and registered the marriage also.

Just a correction. Dharmendra was/is Sikh, not Hindu. (Though it still falls under the Hindu Marriage Act.)
