Right now Madhu is looking like an hypocrite, if she had not stated all those dialogues about sanskar and maryada. I would have been able to digest this track. If she was not shown to be a person who did nothing wrong or perfect, then maybe the audience would have been able to digest this track.

This is one of the reason I do not like hindi serials female leads.
