My episode review-
Why is it that I find all scenes acceptable only to a certain point these days?
Padmini-Madhu-
1. RK doesn't know how to treat a woman in a relationship.
2. The pain of a wound is magnified when someone tries to make light of it.
Ok, I was with Madhu so far.
She didn't mention revenge, only teaching him a lesson on love and the pain of love.
Here is where I felt a disconnect.
How do you teach a person these things?
1. Make them watch someone experiencing it- RK has already done this and her heartbreak didn't affect him all that much.
2. Make them experience it for themselves- This is foolproof but Madhu is overlooking that whatever she calls it, it'll amount to revenge and also her own future.
This is what Padmini should have asked her (before waving her daughter off to the battlefield): What do you want when the war is over? To be free from RK or rebuild your relationship from scratch.
Instead she spouted something about not overstepping the boundaries of 'maryaada' which left me somewhat confused. What are these boundaries, what should Madhu not do?
I find it hard to believe that Padmini will think of anything Madhu does as crossing the line, such is her hatred of RK. She will justify everything in the name of choosing 'sahi' over 'galath'.
I hate to harp on this but didn't it occur to Padmini to question Madhu's change of mind (regarding moving on) or suggest that Madhu drop this idea?
It's strange how I find this mother-daughter relationship not enriching but faintly mutually destructive.
If we assume that when a wound is inflicted (action), the reaction proving highest virtue is forgiveness and lowest is seeking revenge, then Madhu seems to have found a middle ground.
I'm not judging her even if she chooses revenge but if she can't forgive him, then it's step down from the pedestal of her own creation. (Or rather Padmini's creation and Madhu's glorification) Somehow neither of them sees this, they continue to believe that anything Madhu chooses to do is the most virtuous course of action.
RK-Madhu-
She answers when he doesn't ask and hesitates when he does- acting or not, both are certainly on different wavelengths.
She lies convincingly about her mother being upset and RK launches into his ma and mamta lecture again. There doesn't seem to be much significance to Padmini's involvement as far as RK in concerned.
The Sultan situation is more complex- Not only does he not mention the video, he doesn't ask her reason for visiting or even drop a snarky comment about her 'dost'.
Is he trying to show her that he's not insecure?
Or is he waiting for more evidence to pile up so he can blind side her with a confrontation?
Give the rumors about the love test, I'm guessing its the latter. Sigh!
The dress: I guess we'll have to make peace with the fact that Madhu is not opposed to such dresses but it was the act of unveiling that she found humiliating in the past. No other explanation for this piece of clunk.
Dipali-Sikky-
Funnily enough, it was Sikky who became our voice today. With our characters on a faking rampage, its been in the back of our minds if it'll all come down to a re-unwedding.
(I don't mean a logical flow of events but the makers' idea of an entertaining end to the track)
Dipali catches on but she's not a very clever vamp, is she? I mean, why not keep a quiet watch on Madhu for a while? What purpose does confronting her serve? (As if she'll say yes; she did, but that's a different story)
Instead of instilling fear, Dipali upto something is a guarantee for a few laughs. No one brings out RK's wit like her.
I've always found her spontaneous words to RK more cutting (like love test or dhokebaaz episode) than any of her hare-brained schemes.
Precap- RK is going to support Madhu, spout some 'meri biwi hai', 'mera ghar hai', blah blah, blah "OUT" lines. Except, he's the one going out :)
Just hoping for some refreshingly witty insults and if its anything else, I'll be surprised!
Looking forward to everyone's reviews, as usual.
